Raw and powerful. An amazing debut album. Out of the 8 studio albums I would place this one 5th.

Led Zeppelin is awesome and this first album shows their talents in full force. With heavy blues inspired melodies, some of the best drumming and over all Robert Plant's screechy voice.

LZI is heavy, bluesy, technical, aggressive, intense, full-of-energy and many another adjectives which still won't express the marvelous that this album is.
About the re-issue extra material, the only one that shows a decent stuff without taking money giving the same album twice, as in posteriors re-releases. It Gives Zeppelin playing in Paris in a quite interesting performance. Not their best shows, but it has a lot of energy that band has performing.
The most worthwhile band's reissue about material. [11/10 for the album, 8/10 for the extra material]

O melhor álbum de estreia de todos os tempos. Possui faixar pesadas como "Good Times Bad Times" e faixas viajantes como "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You". Eu amo tanto esse albúm, wow.

My second favourite album of all time after The Beatles' Abbey Road, honestly. Songs like Dazed And Confused, You Shook Me, How Many More Times, Communication Breakdown... ALL of them are flawless. In my opinion, this is Led Zep's best album (sorry, IV). Fully recommended.

I had given this album a few shallow listens and, from the beggining I felt like this would be one of my favourite albums ever because, to be honest, I am a sucker for sexy-bluesy-psychedelic-desert rock and this is exactly what this album sounds like. The giant step for rock and for all world music. This album is interesting when you listen to it for the first time, but it is also awesome when you listen to it for the twentieth time.

This is the album that gives you the SOUND. It is not unlike the Small Faces 1966 debut in that while lacking in original material the approach was distinctive enough to render the issue moot.

This is the album that gives you the SOUND. It is not unlike the Small Faces 1966 debut in that while lacking in original material the approach was distinctive enough to render the issue moot.
Led Zeppelin took the Small Faces debut and amped it up with a superior rhythm section (Jones & Bonham sound like they came from the same crib) along with blistering vocals (Jimmy Page was considering the Small Faces Steve Marriott .... then he heard Robert Plant) & Jeep's (My nickname for Mr. Page) multi-faceted approach to the guitar. There was also the issue of stage presence; Steve's 5'4" vs Robert's 6'4". YOU CAN'T HAVE A LEAD SINGER WHO'S SHORTER THE REST OF THE BAND (Unless you're Eric Burdon, Phil Collins or Robert Wyatt)

I usually offer a track sequencing suggestion but it simply doesn't apply here. Jimmy Page was a master of such (However there's 'Physical Graffiti'... the first disk of which has some of the worst track sequencing I've ever seen). There is one I would omit in deference to the version on 'Coda" - That would be "I can't quit you baby" Otherwise, AS IS OFF THE RACKS.

The fearsome foursome's eponymous, 1969 debut pairs its volcanic blues and folk with a raw performance from that same year in Paris.

Upgrading previous remasterings, Page's personal touch brings out even more detail.... Each album's companion disc supplies both pleasure and an education. [Jul 2014, p.120]

From a purely sonic standpoint, these new versions are impossible to disregard.... The deluxe edition bonus material is more hit-or-miss. Since the Led Zeppelin vaults had basically already been emptied, Page tosses in a bonus Paris live show from 1969; the eight-track set has already circulated as a bootleg for years, and it remains inessential.
