Live at The Troxy is still a gem of a record that acts as affirmation for those who were there that the show was as spectacular as they remember, and as a legitimate teaser for those who want to catch Fever Ray live next time she’s in town.

Along with its generous set list and powerful performances, the attention to details like these makes Live at Troxy another riveting expression of Dreijer's passionate commitment to their work.

On Live at Troxy, we get the chance to hear Fever Ray—a band, now—exalt all of that good human love as a collective, a chosen family thrilled to share their music and their play.

The downside to Live at Troxy is the obviously lacking visual dimensions these same songs enjoyed for the crowd present. A video companion would have made for an ideal package. At the same time, Fever Ray's live offering serves as a better intro for their music than either studio release. These fleshed out recordings still pull off every sonic trick from the studio only with greater weight and charisma.

While Live at the Troxy does a good job of trying to capture and recontextualise the Fever Ray live experience, it doesn’t quite pull it off. This is down to trying to capture a 3D, 360 degree experience in mere audio: you get an idea of how good the gig was, but it doesn’t quite do it justice without visuals. However, Dreijer and her vocals – their clarity, and her charisma – are still the stars of the show.
