How in the flippin' hell did this get above 70? Are all people crazy, or just tone-deaf? Her voice is nasally and annoying. Along with Timbalands random "HEy.. ooooh hey" this is just sad. Her older music used to actually be listenable to a certain extant, but going hip-hop while sounding like she's sick doesn't work for her. Back to the drawing board Nell, cause the only How in the flippin' hell did this get above 70? Are all people crazy, or just tone-deaf? Her voice is nasally and annoying. Back to the drawing board Nell, cause the only reason you're selling with this material is because of the brainwashed consumer, thinking it's "all the rage". It's a trend, hopefully it'll pass. Also, her new image in her videos is absolutely disgusting. Acting all "Ooh, I'm hot" business, to me, is not hot, it's egocentric. "Everybody, look at me, me". Great lyric material. Booooooring. I give her a 2. One for being with the trends, and 2 for not being original. Those are the good points in the album. Which isn't a good thing. Expand

i HATED this album because nelly did not stay true to herself...her first two albums were beautiful because they were different and no one had heard anything like it. now shes only fallen into the all too common world of hip hop...which she SUCKS at trying to do by the way

I was so happy when Promiscuous was nearing the end of its heavy play curve on the radio waves. Too bad they chose to replace it with this techno attempt throw back to the '80s original by Hall & Oates... sorry if most of you are too young for the reference - YouTube it to get up to speed.

Yea, this album might as well be called Timbaland because it seems as though he does more on this album then Nelly Furtado does herself. This doesn't sound like Nelly at all.

I don't buy it. A severe lack of melody marks yet another disappointing offering from someone that had shown such astronomical promise. It's a shame -- the piecemeal cacophony masquerading as music sounds fused and patched together like a factory-made product. Some may appreciate this robotic sound, but I prefer the organic, multi-national, free-form emotion she exuded before I don't buy it. Some may appreciate this robotic sound, but I prefer the organic, multi-national, free-form emotion she exuded before the hip-hop community got their claws into her.. Not only that, but I get the distinct feeling that she believes all the yes-men and women telling her how rad she is. She's not being herself -- it may be that she feels she must subvert her smart, sunny, mensa-like persona in order to attain commercial viability. Whatever may be the cause, it is a painfully forced attempt at a dumbed-down, relaxed vibe. She just sounds like she is in a miserable place right now. Expand

  1. Loose is slick, smart and surprising - the first great pop album of the year.
  2. Aside from a few duff tracks 'Loose' is an absolute beauty that couldn't have arrived at a better moment.
  3. It probably won't appeal to all, and some of Furtado's fans may be hugely turned off by the more danceable tracks. Yet Timbaland has revitalized Furtado - this is the sound of an artist having the time of her life.
