Durk is more than just authentic though, he’s creative and compelling. He elevates drill from a regional art into a crossover territory that may earn him more haters but will definitely gain him more fans.

He’s established a solid, consistent repertoire, one he should be proud of on its own merits if nothing else.

The 16 songs use a wide variety of stylistic approaches while centering around Durk's lyrical narratives of desperation and survival. While not all of it feels essential, the high points are fantastic examples of the rapper at his best.

The Durk-Meek Mill team-up “Bougie” lacks chemistry. Sleazy sex jam “Extravagant” comes close, but it’s held back by Nicki Minaj’s ill-suited bombastic verse and a few laughable Durk one-liners. Culling these missteps would have helped the tape’s batting average, but they can’t mask Durk’s undeniable strengths.

This project from Durk is the epitome of mediocre. No noticeably outstanding songs despite having highly prestigious features on the project. This project from Durk is the epitome of mediocre. No noticeably outstanding songs despite having highly prestigious features on the project. While I was underwhelmed with Durk on this project nothing was truly bad enough for me to say this was a bad project. Expand
