This is brave, baffling, bonkers and most importantly, absolutely brilliant. Strap yourselves in, it’s a hell of a ride.

    They're strutting along a tightrope without a downward glance here. [27 Jan 2018, p.50]

The musical landscape has changed since Fall Out Boy’s Warped Tour days in the mid-’00s, and so have they. As Mania shows, it’s probably for the best.

Any mania in MANIA is limited to the lyrics, while the band’s music is even-tempered and hardly given to extremes.

Since around 2007’s Infinity On High, the key to enjoying Fall Out Boy has been letting go of their pop-punk past and embracing the pop band that always hid in plain sight. That was a chore on American Beauty/American Psycho, but less so on Mania. As endorsements go, that’s pretty qualified.

All this feverish digital desperation makes the already clamorous M A N I A feel positively cacophonic: it may only be 39 minutes but it's one long ride.

M A N I A won’t suddenly ignite a revisionist outlook of Fall Out Boy’s career, but it does leave you pining for the earnest giddiness of their pre-hiatus material. This is a feeble gesture of benign, stadium-sized pop that’s been cynically constructed, artificially beefed-up and saturated beyond the point of listenability.

I'dMANIA is one of their more experimental albums, strong focus on more electronic instrumentals but maintains a fall out boy style music. I'd dare say this might've been too fast of a shift especially for old fans, although they still have "traditional" style songs like Wilson old fans will love, but if you're not into "pop" style electronic music I wouldn't recommend this. Personally as a fan for many years I didn't enjoy the album at first but throughout the times I've listened to it it's starting to grow on me, definitely a feel-good album. Expand

All I hear when I listen to this is loud percussion beats and pitch shifted noises. While admittedly there are couple good songs on this album it's clear Fall Out Boy have took a turn for the worst.

Only two songs have impressed me and the rest of the songs have not at all. To me it only seems fair that if I only like 2/10 songs from this album, that I would give it 4/10 as a review score. "Champion" and "Wilson (Expensive Mistake)" are songs I do like from the album. I tried my best to like the others as well, but I just can't. The album is a bit experimental I think. So they did try something new which I adore. It just didn't turn out the way I thought it would. Expand

Me puedes explicar porque diablos usaste estos generos de EDM y Rock electrónico. Esta bueno para que te sangre los oidos con este aborto.
Espero que la proxima no saques algo así de nuevo.
