After being recommended this by one of my friends, I was not disappointed at all. Every element comes together to form what is easily the best Metal album.

The vocals are amazing and James manages some incredible performances ("Disposable Heroes") on the album. The instruments don't disappoint either, though. From the iconic riffs of "Master of Puppets" and "Orion" to the flawless solo of "The Thing That Should Not Be", to the drum fills lining most songs, there is so much to love on the album.
One surprising thing about this album is how much it's willing to bring down the tempo and deliver something slower, yet just as amazing, and they do it incredibly gracefully. They also manage to make three songs over eight minutes long and keep them fresh even on your tenth listen, which is extraordinary.
The lyrics were something that also surprised me, and the topics of everything from drug abuse, to war, to HP. Lovecraft banter, are dealt with far better than what most metal bands do.
The album does falter a bit at the ending, though. "Orion", while an amazing song, with some kick-ass melodies, does suffer a bit from being the second-longest track on the entire album. "Damage Inc." is another great song, and I think the last ten seconds closes off the album perfectly, just isn't as good as the first six tracks.
The riffs, the drumming, the solos, the vocals, the lyrics and the songs themselves combine to make one of metal's, and music's, best works. A must-listen.
Favourites: Master of Puppets, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Disposable Heroes
Least Favourites: Damage Inc. (A great song still).

As with Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning, this boxset is for devotees of the band and considering the legacy of Master of Puppets, any metal fan should have it in their collection.

One of the best albums of Metallica. Unbelievably good bass ( one of the bands where bass matters), awesome drums and decent vocal. I recommend to all the people who want to find out the real metal!

    More than a masterpiece.

Pick era and (probably) the best album of Metallica.
Awesome riffs, great vocals and lyrics.
    Magnificent production.
Zero skip, no bad songs. Just real music and art.
    Legendary record.

Probably one of the best Thrash albums, if not the best one. The riffs are **** badass and the lyrics are beautiful. James' voice in this album is soooo powerful and the guitar sound is perfect. 10/10 for me

In my opinion it is the best Metallica LP and the best metal album of all time (maybe tied with Ride the Lightning). Everything is perfect.

A towering metal classic sadly showcasing the immense Bass talent of Cliff Burton. Just listen to "Orion" and be thankful

Прекрасное звучание ударных в каждой песне, особенно в Master of Puppets, где они задают темп всей песне. "Быстрый" вокал Хэтфилда в Battery напоминает песни первых альбомов. Невероятные риффы в каждой песне.

This is the first Metallica album I've ever listened to. Honestly, I didn't go into this expecting it to be amazing. There was one BIG miss on this album, being Disposable heroes. Besides the obvious iconic Master of Puppets, my favorite was Welcome Home. Overall, its a solid 9/10.

Amazing album, I love every song on it. "The thing that should not be", "Welcome home(sanatarium)", and "Master of puppets" are truly masterpieces. And "Orion" is one of the best instrumentals out there!

Must listen for anyone being introduced to metal. The mixing was perfect, and the way the tracks strike you, it's as if you are living the feelings they are expressing through the lyrics of these pieces. It's surprising how their most perfect album is describing all the imperfections of the world. Beautifully composed.

This is the 3rd best album from Metallica, and there's a reason: The album is very good, but (the song) Master of Puppets is shining sooooooooo hard that you forget all the other songs.

Álbum magnifico, não tem musicas ruins, todas contam com solos magníficos, riffs agressivos e progressão épica, com certeza uma das maiores obras de arte da história

The pinnacle of Metallica. Such an amazing album that I’m not sure how anybody gave it a low score.

This ludicrously exhaustive deluxe edition includes hour after hour of live takes, demos and interviews. Fascinating, but none of it overshadows the original album. [Dec 2017, p.70]
