The covers and remixes on McCartney III Imagined are vibrant and its diversity throughout the record will fascinate any Macca fan.

A plethora of well-known, respected artists reimagine the songs from McCartney's recent album, McCartney III, in a project which is certainly eclectic and fun, if not essential.

Better than the original. Except for the last song which I prefer on the McCartney release.

I have yet to come across a remix album that I have enjoyed more than the original record. I can't help but compare the versions of songs which in itself is probably an unfair start. I reckon if you listen to this before you listen to the source album you will get more enjoyment from it but that is only possible if your late coming to the original. Anyway, this takes a solid record and while not necessarily improving it, it definitely adds something new. The Khruangbin remix of the track "Pretty Boys" is my favourite track and I will be checking out more of that artist based on what I have heard here. To be fair, at least half of the album is decent. Unfortunately the other half of it falls into generic remix territory. Had the album been released in isolation I have no doubt it would be better received. Expand

It's definitely a must-listen for all McCartney fans. It's certainly more interesting than the original, and the artistic freedom the features had is amazing. Some songs are just meh, I expected a lot more from Beck and Blood Oranges, but Phoebe Bridgers, Dominic Fike, Josh Homme, Anderson .Paak and Damon Albarn do an amazing work.

This album shows that Paul McCartney can still write

This album shows that Paul McCartney can still write great music, even if the production style and performance of his own is dated and uninteresting. (I didn't love McCartney III)

The most compelling moments on McCartney III Imagined arrive when artists cut their own version of one of the album's tracks: Phoebe Bridgers finding the sweet, spectral pulse on "Seize the Day," Beck singing along to his funkified version of "Find My Way," and Josh Homme treating "Lavatory Lil" like a Desert Sessions jam. These moments help elevate McCartney III Imagined into something a little more than a curio.

Some artists, such as Beck and Khruangbin with their art-funk overhauls of Fund My Way and Pretty Boys respectively, build traditional, if inventive remixes around Macca's vocals. Other go further and basically cover the songs. [Aug 2021, p.83]

The best is from Phoebe Bridgers, giving the bright, synthy "Seize the Day" a sad-girl makeover. [May 2021, p.76]
