Curry flexes his ability to flow and rhyme meticulously lines that explode your mind, his gruff delivery similar to that of RZA or even Busta Rhymes.

‘Melt My Eyez See The Future’ finds Denzel Curry sitting in a lane of his own. A unique, unified experience, it’s a boundary-less work of endless fascination.

With this album, Curry wants to let the world know who he is and what he stands for, and the music is all the better for it.

With such a vibrant canvas to rap over, its good to hear Curry come at the project with a refreshed pen game.

Real victory comes from delivering something cohesively independent such as MELT MY EYEZ. And as promised we do indeed see the future.

While this record isn’t going to lure rock purists out of their dens, it has greater ambitions in mind, and the amount it achieves in the space that it does is staggering. For any artist of any genre, this is the textbook for innovation.

It’s just a rap album, albeit a very good one, and it shows just how dynamic and forceful Denzel Curry can be when he releases himself from the poisonous burden of perfection.

On Melt My Eyez See Your Future, Curry again retools his sound, trading livewire energy for introspection and vulnerability. The album lacks the vividness of his past releases, but its concept offers a glimpse into Curry’s roving mind.

It is both new school and old school, trap and boom bap. There is enough to satisfy an old school enthusiast as well as a new school listener. The album is extremely cohesive and thematically his best yet; there are only two songs that could be considered even remotely mediocre. Production and mixing is on point. Not too many notable features overall, but the ones that are there are there for a reason and not for numbers. After a dozen or so full listens, this might be my favorite album of all time. By far, Denzel's best album. On my third listen and won't be my last.

The album was smooth to listen and the transitions between the songs were godlike. Best work Denzel has put out ever. I believe this album will age like fine wine and will be remembered and respected for a really long time. Full Review »
