  1. With simple, straightforward songs that appeal to melodic sensibilities rather than rhythmic contraptions, the set is a mix of vulnerability and earnestness.
  2. It says quite a bit about Nelly Furtado's ambitions and skill when her Spanish detour winds up being arguably her strongest album yet.
  3. The music here is lush or spare when necessary. More singing in this context makes her shine more brightly.
  4. The songs stay bright, friendly and generalized yet heartfelt, awaiting the singalongs they invite in Ms. Furtado’s latest language.
  5. Can she master the bustle and colour of Latin pop as easily as she mastered sweaty electro? Tristemente, no. While never less than agreeable, Mi Plan is rarely more than that.
  6. Tracks like 'Fuerte' find a decent Timba-lite groove; the rest are, at best, inconsequential.
  7. Mi Plan is a mildly diverting listen that doesn't tarnish the brand and helps re-connect the artist with a core fanbase.
  8. While Mi Plan is by no means some excruciating disaster, it is heartless, with forced sincerity and awkward posturing uncharacteristic of Furtado's previous work.

Full Review »

I love how raw her voice sounds, it does not seem to be overproduced which is great. Almost all of the songs have great replay value. I do not speak Spanish, but I enjoy "Mi Plan" (the album) anyway. Even though I wish there were less collaborations, they are pretty good nonetheless. I am planning to listen to the rest of her music because this album impressed me Full Review »

Man, I don't know why some people don't like this album, I love it. Listen to the lyrics! I mean "Feliz Cumpleanos" is heart-breaking.
