    Mind of Mine is an incredibly versatile, diverse album that draws from an eclectic range of influences, evidencing the fact that Zayn is a chameleon. His vocal texture, his range and the clear Pakistani/Asian techniques he draws from give each song a fascinatingly striking, yet melodious sound. It's not a genre-album - it cannot be pinned down because of its sheer versatility. It is an atmosphere and beats based album which has a variety of influences, ranging from soul, R&B, pop, and even reggae. One of the album's biggest strengths is the diversity of sonic influences, and how it still maintains aVery impressive and solid debut album. Mind of Mine showcases Zayn's effortlessly smooth vocals over impeccable production, kudos to Malay Ho, XYZ, and Lennox. It is an atmosphere and beats based album which has a variety of influences, ranging from soul, R&B, pop, and even reggae. One of the album's biggest strengths is the diversity of sonic influences, and how it still maintains a singular underlying thematic element to tie the entirety of the record together. Zayn is easily one of the most talented vocalists of his generation, and Mind of Mine further proves this. Effortlessly showcasing a number of G5 notes, Zayn stuns- unsurprisingly. His smooth, decadent tone is one of a kind. And last, but certainly not least, Zayn's inclusion of an entire song (Intermission: Flower) in his native language, Urdu, is a statement in and of itself. In a music industry that is depraved of nearly any Desi individuals, Zayn stands out all on his own as a British-Pakistani Muslim. All in all, Mind of Mine shows glimpses of artistic genius, and what I am sure is a promising career ahead of Zayn. Don't let his boy band roots stray you away from this masterpiece. 10/10.… Expand

    Honestly I am not in in One Direction's demographic but I have been waiting on Zayn's album since I heard his voice in one of their songs in about 2013. Mind of Mine is really good. My favorite tracks are " She, She Don't Love Me", Bright , Be Four , TIO, actually all of them . My only complaint is that " Flower " should have been longer. This is an excellent first album.

    His vocal ability is undeniable. also the transitions between the songs is smooth. Lyricwise hey are deep. The fact that he has both upbeat and ballads is also great. The icing on the the cake is the Urdu song. This is a solid debut album.

    There are a bunch of my favorite in this one but i love It's You the most such an ethereal song with those heavenly falsettos. TiO is such a banger. In fact, there's a lot of banger in this album, Wrong, PillowTalk, Befour, Like I Would to name a few. And i really love the intro, Mind Of Mine, it really showcases Zayn's beautiful voice.     Mind of Mine deviates from Zayns' previous work and displays the growth in his artistry. It's a cohesive body of work that flows completely through; there are no filler tracks. He really chooses carefully when to sing at full strength and when to pull back and his choices are stellar. The only difficulty is picking a favorite!

    Only Lucozade is better than the entire discography of 1D
    Now we see why Zayn hated the music they did, it's nothing their style. And here we can see his true maturity not only musical but also personal, we see the former integranteser himself.

    Brilliant album. Zayn showcases his raw talent and emotion and makes you feel what he is going through. It's real it's raw and it's relatable. He sings of realizing hurtful and toxic situations and people in his life and takes you on that journey with him. It's extremely poetic and some of the plays on words are incredible and really just add to the album. Amazing album

    To be honest, i don't even know Zayn i only heard pillowtalk on the radio and i thought it was this random artist i didn't know who zayn was or that he was in one direction, however, i decided to give his album a try and let me just say i didn't expect that. It wasn't your typical rnb or pop album.     For a debut and no doubt a brainstorm of ideas, the album is amazing. Id say he is the best male vocalist out at the moment with incredible versatility. As for the lyrics, at times are sloppy but overall pretty good and he can only improve from here. Im sure people will right him off without a proper listen and there is so much lazy journalism out there towards this album, but hey, theirFor a debut and no doubt a brainstorm of ideas, the album is amazing.     A solid debut album. Was never a One Direction fan but this album made me into a Zayn fan. Fantastic production and vocals. Lyrics can improve a bit but nevertheless, an impressive debut album.

    I remember when I first listened to Zayn's "Pillowtalk" and how much impressed I was and it got stuck in my head for months; that single alone made me really excited and eager for his album, but little did I know what it was coming. Let me just say I wasn't expecting that at all. Mind Of Mine is really one of the most beautiful album I've ever listened to. Till this day I still bop it atI remember when I first listened to Zayn's "Pillowtalk" and how much impressed I was and it got stuck in my head for months; that single alone made me really excited and eager for his album, but little did I know what it was coming. Let me just say I wasn't expecting that at all. Mind Of Mine is really one of the most beautiful album I've ever listened to. Till this day I still bop it at least once per week and I'm still not tired of it. It's really a good and refreshing Pop/Alternative R&B album which really represents him and the music that he wants to do. Zayn delivers vocals and emotions, he really poured himself out in this album and tried to let us in to let us know him more and in my honest and humble opinion he did that. The production was excellent from the intro to the last song and I was really surprised when I realized I didn't actually feel the need to skip a song, not even one. Also I really wanna give him more credits for the lyrics because they're actually really good and I feel like people don't realize it enough. I wasn't expecting to feel all of this from an album, nothing, mostly thinking this is a debut album, but it happened and I was really surprised. Considering the amount of writers and producers used on this album, in comparison to other artists just shows Zayn's talent and he will only improve on the next album. Stand out tracks for me are its you- stunning vocals, productions and heartbreak! I also love blue a lot. If you love slow tracks you'll like that and theFor a debut album, it is actually outstanding. And very underrated!     Another thing that i like about this album, it has influenced of Zayn's Pakistani culture, it's shown by the way he sang most of the songs. He also sang a song in Urdu, 'Intermission: Flower'
    There's also classical influenced in 'Blue', and heartbreaking ballads like 'It's You' and 'Fool For You'.
    If i need something upbeat, something mellow, something uplifting, something to think about, i'm always coming back to this album.

It is childish and distasteful, and just highlights the abuse Zayn has suffered for most of his career. They would not like it if Zayn fans did this to Harry's album. It should also be noted that Zayns debut single PillowTalk debuted at #1 on both the US and UK charts. A feat that only 11 other artist before him have done, such as Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Beyoncé, Adele and Ed Sheeran. Zayn is also the FIRST male UK solo artist to debut at #1 with their first album. Zayn has since seen another top 5 hit with his duet of I Don't Want ago Live Forever with Taylor Swift.     Stumbled upon his music lately, and omg i'm so late!! Amazing vocals, soft very soft and yet full of emotion. The sensuality vibes are there even if he's singing with longing for his broken heart. Borderz is now between my top ten of songs dropped of 2016. The ambiance is sublime, everything is magnificent, thank youu.

    Absolutely AmaZayn! One of the greatest album ever if not the best. Sick tunes with profound vocal variations, not to mention the mesmerizing high notes especially the severity of G5 note he belted in sHe. We might have a hard time hearing the songs of this calibre again. Personally i can't get enough of Pillowtalk, BeFour, sHe, Flower, dRuNk, TiO, Borderz, Bright, Like a Would.

    Mind of Mine is really effective in launching Zayn's career as a solo artist. The production and his vocals are just incredible. He pulls off an easy listen even though the album is pretty long. The lyrics could have been better but his vocals and catchy beats make up for it. Every song is beautiful and you can feel the vibes throughout. Definitely sets a grand stage for his upcoming work.

    Sabes ese sentimiento de esperanza luego de malos tiempos? Eso es lo que sentí cuando escuché este álbum. Tiene cierta tristeza y aún así tiene canciones llena de añoranza por un futuro cercano. Me encanta el ambiente general, como se transita entre emociones de pasión y desencanto con una ingenuidad intacta. Hermoso para un debut, le deseo lo mejor.

    El mejor álbum "R&B" del 2016, arrasando con sonidos únicos en su estilo, elegante y glamuroso como lo es "ZAYN". Un álbum que hay que apreciarlo como uno de los ex-actos mas importantes de integrantes de Boybands de la historia, por sus letras y este estilo tan característico como lo es su artista!

    This album is so uniquely lyrical and so rich in production. He has shown a lot of growth from his departure from One Direction and it was worth. This album includes some songs I suggest listening to first such as wrong, befour and drunk.

    I was never a huge fan of RnB music, but after discovering Zayn's album today, it peaked my interest. It's always amazing to see a man of colour do amazingly well in the music industry. But I wanted to listen to the album from a neutral point of view.     After having listened to It's You and Lucozade, I saw a lot of depth in his voice. The tone of his voice struck me and gave me goosebumps all over. It was like immaculate conception. The high notes in the music were surprisingly beautiful and mysterious - being a huge rock fan - it reminded me of something only a Freddie Mercury could achieve. I didn't expect this from a former 1D member. I really didn't.

    The iconic Pillowtalk of course is what stood out to me. The style was very unique and it was a splendid job by the artist. Like I Would had me immediately 'bopping' my head as some youngsters like to say these days.

    Overall, I have been left speechless by how good this album is. And want to know if Zayn will be releasing more music in the near future. If so, I very much look forward to it and hope to see an evolution because he has enormous potential.    … Expand

Os arranjos assim como as composições são extremamente bem trabalhados, e como se tudo isso não bastasse, a voz sedutora e flexível de ZAYN torna tudo muito mais claro e prazeroso. “PILLOWTALK” e “BeFoUr”, são nitidamente umas das canções mais atraentes do disco, mas é apenas em “Wrong” que ZAYN beira a perfeição juntamente com os vocais bem acoplados de Kehlani. Em alguns momentos, as canções apresentam um potencial não muito bem explorado, o que de maneira alguma as torna ruim, mas deixam de ganhar um pouco a mais de credibilidade.     Overall, Mind of Mine is a very impressive album. There are a few songs which I'm not really into, but for the length of the album that's not really surprising. Zayn delivered many great songs, such as Wrong and Borderz

Any 1D fans that were expecting the commercial pop tracks they would typically receive from the band when Zayn was a member would be majorly disappointed by this album. Therefore, Zayn leaving 1D was a huge risk, but clearly a necessary move he had to make since he had his own talent to offer. My favorites are Bordersz, It's you, Rear View, Pillowtalk, Blue, golden, Do something good and Lucozade. His vocals are really nice to listen to and one year later, I am still listening to his whole album on a regular basis. I was not a fan of One Direction, quite the opposite, but even then I was fascinated by Zayn. I really liked his "Let me love you" by Mario cover, his vocals were really nice even back then. I am very happy that my image of him indeed has proven to be true. He can definitely count on me when he tours or releases a new album, i am all on his side. I took my time to write this review because I saw a few people saying the album is all about sex, whereas 7 out of 18 tracks at most may include sex in a relationship, which is again real may I add.… Expand

The transition into another song was done so beautiful, you can tell that was something he took his time and thought about.     Zayn's solo debut album, Mind of Mine, was honestly one of my favorite albums of 2016. Definitely top 10 in my personal favorite album collections ever. Everything was perfect. Vocals, lyrics, and the sound. The production and execution of Mind of Mine is so underrated. I really recommend giving it and Zayn a chance. You won't regret it.

    Amazing album. Every single song has something different, really diverse. I'm surprised because usually I don't like listening to albums entirely because i'm always disapointed by most of the song, except the lead songs. But here ... I can appreciate his voice but also the quality of the songs. Really impressive for a debut, great job. Look forward for the next one !

    This album contains many pop, alt-rnb, and neo-soul influences. The album is an easy listen and the singer's voice is incredible. Very enjoyable for any fans of the aforementioned genres. One of the best albums released in 2016.

    It is a disc of intense rhythms that transported to different sides according to the song, "Befour" has very good introduction. Letters have great meaning and emotion. "Rearview" and "Golden" they reflect the great work in the composition of the songs. The have integrated a song in Urdu makes it masterly. Good job for his first solo album.

    Moody, changing, sexy and even inspiring is what this album represent as whole. It's a great example of being inspired by amazing artists without copying them. I'm pretty sure of what will come in the future will be better, an i'm waiting (in the meantime i'll be here listening MoM and enjoying it a lot).

    I came to his music because Pillowtalk and even if it's a lot different from what i expected at first i have to say it's mavellous. This is the kind of album to listen with the lights off, very intimate. He's without a doubt a promise of the music.

I'm really hoping he incorporates more south-asian sounds in his next album. Zayn's vocal ability was evident from his 1D days, but on the album he has more freedom and really goes for it. The result is glorious. I particularly like his lower register voice but he showcases his falsetto and high notes extremely well too. So like I do with any top 10 song, I listened to it and moved on. However one day while I was going through some instagram posts I came across a snippet of Zayn's song "Golden". The meaning of the lyrics and his voice was so beautiful that it convinced me to give his album a try. The album was truly a masterpiece. My favorites are "pillowtalk, golden, befour, she, drunk, rear view, tio" and the only feature on the album "wrong". Songs like "fool for you, borderz, blue, truth, lucozade and she don't love me" are works of art on their own right. "Like I would" is a bop while "bright" was an unexpected surprise of the good kind. The ballad "It's you" is so beautiful and to this day I don't know how it's possible for a man to hit the notes in that song. Even after I've seen him do it live. The song "flower" which he sang in order to honor his heritage was truly a novel experience. Specially to see something of asian culture being created by a man who grew up in the western culture. And last but not least the intro "mind of mindd". Lots of people don't pay attention to it since it's a simple verse. But there's a power in it that I can't put into words. All in all "Mind of Mine" was one amazing debut album that truly showcased Zayn's vocal ability and diversity in music.… Expand

TiO and Wrong are sexy but not trying to notch up numbers at the expense of their partner, the participants are enthusiastic and enjoying their sexy, uncensored indiscretions together. Some of it borders on a smooth melancholy without ever getting bogged down in self pity. On the whole, an album that has me singing along when I can, and appreciating it with my eyes closed when I can't. Lovely first effort, can't wait to see what he brings in next.… Expand

    He really blew me away with this album, I thought he would struggle more in the process of 5 to 1 but honestly, when you listen to Mind Of Mine is like Zayn was born for if. The melodies and the vocals were for me the outstanding factor but his lyrically ability is shown multiples times on tracks like Rear View, Blue, Lucozade, etc!

Lucozade as an example wasn't my favourite onCohesive album. It's just a vibe throughout. It has bops, ballads and some introspection thrown in there too. Flawless transition from She to Drunk. The "I-I-I" part in Tio gets me every time. Essentially, M.O.M. is an album I often come back to and unearth, a new gem each time. That says a lot about the album and what it has going for it. Lucozade as an example wasn't my favourite on first listen but it grew on me after a couple listens and I had to reassess my initial opinion.     Zayn made the best decision when he left one direction, he made a masterpiece called mind of mine, loved everything about it , the vocals, the lyrics,the stories behind some of those songs, zayn deserves a grammy for everything about his album.

    I will start by saying that i hated one direction music and i was ready to hate Zayn's solo music too. To my surprise i actually loved it. There are songs with great lyrical depth like 'Rearview', 'Lucozade'. There is also great diversity between ballads like 'fool for you' and and dance tracks like 'Tio' and 'She'. Although surprisingly the most famous track 'Pillowtalk' was my leastI will start by saying that i hated one direction music and i was ready to hate Zayn's solo music too. If you're still here let me tell you that Befour, She, Lucozade and Like I would dispute their places as my favourites too. You have excellent pop in them, he knows to choose well.     People don't give this album enough credit. So honest and raw and heartbreaking on some songs, and also so many bangers?? His voice is amazing and it's great to finally get to see his songwriting prowess come out.

    Zayn's album will be the best debut ever. OKAY. He did THAT. Every song on here is brilliant. The lyrics are perfect. Truly an A-list vocalist. Still pissed it didn't get nominated for a Grammy because this is truly Grammy worthy any ways Grammys don't define talents but my mans deserved

    Mind of Mine,is that album which I have been listening for more than a year and I have really enjoyed every track of it.
    Credit where it's due.He is talented and has put a lot of effort to make this Debut album iconic.
    This album has made me more excited for the Second!

    It's not what you expect. He's not Justin Timberlake or someone like that, he's Zayn and it' more interesting this way. It's a breath of fresh air between his contemporanies, you got sexy tunes like Pillowtalk and Wrong and yet very personal songs in Befour (remembering his days as boybander) and frankly i'm still singing the chorus of the last one because it's THAT good. Pop and r&b isIt's not what you expect. He's not Justin Timberlake or someone like that, he's Zayn and it' more interesting this way.     Zayn's album is genuinely one of my favourite albums ever. His ability to tell a story through his music is clearly seen in the hits like iT's YoU, BeFoUr, INTERMISSION, etc. I love his music so much!!!!!

    Every song on the album distinguishes itself in both lyrical content and production. From the theatrical, heartbroken, deeply relateable "It's You" to the to the hazy euphoria of "Drunk". Zayn, always the vocal highlight in One Direction, gets to show his range but also his preferred R&B tombre. One of my most frequent re-listens.

    His vocal skills help pave over the (rare) moments when the lyrics seem a bit juvenile or the sound feels a little too familiar, and help make Mind of Mine an impressive debut. It's music he couldn't have made with One Direction and while it may not be breaking any new ground, it's new for him and he's talented enough to make that interesting for anyone who likes well-made pop music.
