More. Again. Forever strikes a mature balance. It’s escapist in its sound but humane in its approach to the world. It’s experimental but familiar, and tests what the band are capable of while proving to be their more focussed work to date.

For a band that is beloved on home soil but often gets lost in the crop of late-2000s U.K. exports, this catalog highlight is ample evidence of artistic greatness and proves that, even after the darkest of days, beauty and light are on the horizon.

More. Again. Forever shows a band who insist on exploring, learning and get closer to the truth about life and human existence, and there is just no way that this can ever, ever, be a bad thing.

The album is solid and dependable, rather than a source of head-spinning shocks and thrills: it knows its audience, and it knows better than to confound them if you want to keep bucking trends and filling arenas.

From the stomping anthems like Heart Attack, Heavy Jacket and the catchy Previous Parties to the slow, enchanting and beautifully worded Hanging Off Your Cloud and One Day At A Time. There really is a variety on this record that Courteeners have lacked in recent attempts, it's a sign of a band growing in confidence and hitting the stride rather than one burning out. They'll always have their nay sayers but Fray and Co are silencing the doubters with absolute style. Expand
