    Of course, Grace Jones is the star here. Five of the original album’s nine songs are covers, though rather than fealty to the source material, Jones sounds as if she’s shredding the songbook with her bare teeth.

    On this Deluxe Edition, remixes fill out the majority of the extra material.... Yet in a way, it points to the downside of the album, and the fact that sometimes the Compass Point All Stars can steer away from Jones’ dynamic connection between an audience and herself.

    An 80's disco masterpiece of heady psychedelic dance floor bangers. Unfurling slowly with a seductive rhythm Jones erupts on Nightclubbing like an intimidating benevolent ruler. "Walking in the rain" the opener feels like a pulse moving in unison with the dance floor. "Pull up to the bumper" moves with the swagger of reggae but the cool of disco. The production of this album does do most of the heavy lifting but that is due to no failing of Jones. Instead her lyrics feel like the guide to the chaos of the music but on the album higlight "Demolition man" she takes the helm and with a bowie reminiscent delivery takes center stage . This album is phenomenal with just how well everything fits together,.    … Expand
