Sim Simma was in my head for a week. The production is very good, the sound is truly pleasant

very beautiful release ! I discovered her through this album, a very comforting sound mixed with heavy & thought out, raw lyrics. honestly the production always shifting during the songs, adding singing, adding strings, adding background vocals, then coming back to rap, etc, felt like i had to pause and just listen and float through i. i loved it !

This is a great album, the instrumentals and her singing go great together. Every song sounds at least interesting and llistenable. It's a record that you can put on and just vibe to, nothing to heavy, you can just head bop to it and enjoy. I don't have that much critisism on the songs themselves. Only the song "Who even cares" is the worst on the record. I feel like I can't hear her voiceThis is a great album, the instrumentals and her singing go great together. Every song sounds at least interesting and llistenable. It's a record that you can put on and just vibe to, nothing to heavy, you can just head bop to it and enjoy. I don't have that much critisism on the songs themselves. Only the song "Who even cares" is the worst on the record. I feel like I can't hear her voice that well and the song drags on for too long. I have this with a lot of the songs, they're great for 3 minutes or so, but with no bridge and no special flows or stops in the beat, it can get boring after a while. But with some tracks it works fantastically, personally I can't get enough from the bass of the song "gorilla" and her slow flow that never stops and keeps going. This is Simz at her best, love her rapping as well, it kind of reminds me of "The Lady of Rage" without the english accent, which really works here. "Angel" is also great, she sings and raps on this and it just works, I don't get bored, it's just great constructive repeating. Sideways is the shortest song on the album and this was the perfect length for it as well. Broken has a beautifull outro and the instrumental as a whole with the "brokeen" in the back, is great!. If some songs could've been a bit shorter this would've been a 9/10 album, but sometimes it's just too long.

Fav tracks: Gorilla, Angel, Sideways, Heart on fire, Broken
Least fav track: Who even cares

Great pallet cleanse at the end of the year. She’s delivered in back to back albums, I’d love to see features try to keep up with her

Little Simz's answer came very quickly, and she is still using the same style, but she is getting better and better on the unexpected and not Christmassy No Thank You. Full Review On LyricsStory

Definitely one of the best albums out of the uk. I think this actually comes across as a better album lyrically for a non concept rap album than SIMBI, its predecessor. And can one be lifted as the illmatic of uk rap. Better and more cohesive than anything prior to it.

Sincere, groundbreaking and profound. Simz has really mastered her craft. Gorilla, Silhouette and Broken are my personal favorites

Sonically outstanding album that deals with many important subjects such as mental health and the dangers of the music industry as an artist of colour. Shows an evolution from the grand nature of SIMBI while still keeping the amazing production of Inflo. The lyrics continue to grow on you in later listens yet it is still accessible the first time round. Musically fascinating, while being extremely content heavy. Simz out does SIMBI with an album full of a familiar thoughtfulness and an evolving fierceness.

A powerful record that cements an enviable three album run. An astonishing curator of experiences, bars and production Simz leaves few topics unscathed. The growth is ptoof the only way for simz is up

Simz drops a very good follow up to SIMBI, but doesn’t quite reach the level that SIMBI was on.

In true Simz fashion, conscious reflections unfold over the producer’s sprawling arrangements. NO THANK YOU makes certain that every gap is filled tastefully: bellowed vocal ad-libs and melodies (“X”); tasteful guitar tinkles (“Who Even Cares”); or sampled vocal interjections (“Heart On Fire” or “Sideways”).

Her sixth is as deeply personal as it is un-self-pitying, the lyrical punches falling with even more righteous force. [Mar 2023, p.29]

That Little Simz was able to deliver such a crafty set so soon after the career-making Introvert is impressive enough, but No Thank You stands out for its own merits.
