What a return for Rise Against, a fantastic album that is a lot better than its predecessor. And in normal Rise Against fashion the album has a powerful message, album of the year worthy definitely.

Loving the song Forfeit - Can imagine getting the whole crowd singing this at a RA show.

A bad album this is not and for many bands this would be a good album, but for Rise Against it kind of misses the mark. It lacks any memorable hooks albeit for "Broken Dreams, Inc." and overall just feels like the band were on autopilot for the album, lacking anything new or creative to add to their existing catalogue. It's still a fine album that I don't feel the need to turn off, but itA bad album this is not and for many bands this would be a good album, but for Rise Against it kind of misses the mark. Vocalist Tim McIlrath must be given credit as well, as his voice -- and overall production -- is as tight as ever. Technically, I found their last couple albums lacking, feeling too generic and polished, but it's a much better balance now.

Nowhere Generation may lack the nervy zeal of peak efforts like Siren Song of the Counter Culture and Appeal to Reason, but it most certainly has the gravitas.

Though 'Nowhere Generation' isn’t breaking boundaries, it doesn’t need to. Rise Against have carved out a niche that works for them, and if it aint broke, why fix it?
