I used to be crazy for these folks !! They certainly released some of the greatest albums in the history of the field, but I'd have to go all the way back to the late 90's, and Journey to the End of the Night to find one that I thought was really amazing. Many a mystical personal experience for me has left me listening to some of their anger and outright hate (even if it's I used to be crazy for these folks !! A refinement of the country/folk/reggae/rock amalgam The Mekons have pursued for years. [Oct 2002, p.108]
  2. A great place to start, a fine place to continue if you've been on the Mekons road for a bit, and if you are already a fan, this is essential.

Easily ranks among their best. [Oct 2002, p.83]
