Jul 19, 2016These are performative anthems, which use the sonic and affective history of their sounds to construct towering emotional peaks. Jul 19, 2016Pagan is a record that adheres to a formula. If this formula intrigues or excites you, then the record is littered with moments of surprising beauty; if not, then it sounds uniform, bare, bereft of anything substantive to say or evocative to suggest.

Jul 19, 2016Pagan is a singular vision. There's plenty to enjoy--no individual track is a misstep. But consumed as whole, Pagan goes from sugary pop to sickly sweet, and is ultimately unsatisfying.
