It's just a solid album. I'm so tired of reading reviews from old white cis straight man. Like stop being so petty. She did great job!

Sonically it's such a cohesive work of art and I really love the tone of voice she uses. From beginning to end it's just so soothing to listen to while she sing about topics like love, desire, breakup, friendships, depression and anxiety while also adding a lesbian anthem ('for the girls').

She delivers all of these in a more mature and even the happier songs have lines that suggest a darker undertone or a more worrisome background.

Top songs: 'sugar at the bottom', 'forever', 'deep in the woods', 'luna', 'for the girls' and 'found my friends'

The cherry on top arrives with the closing track which is also the titular song, 'panorama'. It's a beautiful song about the lack of self-worth and is probably Hayley's most personal song to date. The synopsis is that however you feel, look around because you might just miss the beauty about your life. When the beat drops, the problems stop and all you see is this breathtaking panorama around you.

Where Expectations saw Kiyoko taking space to explore her own voice, Panorama feels like a leap backwards, trading personality for affectless tracks that fade into the background.

While ‘PANORAMA’ at times feels repetitive, there’s certainly moments that smoulder with passion, sparkling with Kiyoko’s signature charm.

The pop genre is in control of Kiyoko rather than the other way around. Instead of defining a unique sound, Panorama carries the unmistakable metallic tang of reverse engineering.
