Picture You is most certainly amongst 2015's most remarkable releases. Drink it in, and be careful not to judge it too soon.

The exploratory attitude present throughout Picture You's entire running time gives The Amazing an expanded, three-dimensional appeal.

It's taken awhile for that to happen, but on Picture You, the Amazing have completely come into their own.

Preposterous on first listen, more utterly beguiling with each repeat. [Mar 2015, p.71]

The end result is a record that reverently draws from a dazzling array of past masters only to short-circuit critical capacity.
  7. While it's still shrouded in the frontman's down-in-the-mouth moodiness, its slinking rhythms offer the album's most striking and effective contrast between light and dark.

It’s an album too solid to float away and, at its finest moments, too lasting to fade.

shed. It’s beautiful, intense, occasionally relaxing but most of all challenging music that borrows from a myriad of influences and never feels derivative.

On Picture You, The Amazing incorporates traces of psychedelic rock, ’60s pop, and even twee, mostly in the soft-spoken, accented vocals of lead singer Christoffer Gunrup. If that all sounds like chaos, it isn’t. The Amazing has a plan, and they’re rewarded for following it to its furthest conclusion.
