    Electronic pop music at its very finest, the songs are beautifully crafted and the LP as a whole has an ethereal, yet lucid, mood throughout. I highly recommend it.

    Portraits' gorgeous, rhythmic grooves are enhanced by rich vocals, particularly from Holly Walker, pushing it into an even more languid space.

    Portraits resonates at a level of button-pushing sentimentality, but Maribou State are such deft directors of their sound, and so melodically gifted, that they still create moments of magic.
