Jul 12, 2011Though the Random Axe effort is relatively high-profile, these three conjure one another's grimiest gusto.
-
Jul 22, 2011I just feel some little thing is missing, some insignificant morsel that should have no bearing on whether you explore Random Axe's Random Axe or not. By all means, dive in head first with comfort. Enjoy yourselves.
-
Jun 30, 2011Despite its free-wheeling feel, efficient sequencing and a lack of filler show that it's not as random as its title implies.
-
Aug 4, 2011If you consider dressing up putting on clean socks, if you know what the streets smell like at four in the morning, if you consider Shook Ones Pt. II the perfect track to kick back to, you'll have Random Axe on repeat for weeks.
-
Jun 30, 2011Random Axe don't break the mold on this album, but they are sure to make stalwart fans of each individual rapper happy with a release that's thematically consistent if not repetitive and evocative of the three's surefire chemistry.
-
Jun 30, 2011Milk's musical vision is the binding force behind Random Axe and it's something that Price and Simpson clearly believe in; thus, all their bragging about how essential their complete gullyness is to the rap game. Because, despite lines crossed and opportunities missed, it sort of is. Nothing so far in 2011 has a total aesthetic and attitude that goes as hard as this.
-
Jul 26, 2011On Random Axe, the verses are reliably good, but the tedium of clock punching replaces the spirit of competition.
