    SO many fake 10s on this. Everyone is commenting the same stuff and don’t explain anything. Yes the albums diverse, we get it. But it doesn’t make it good. It’s very lackluster is so many areas. A lot of the tracks were filler and skippable.

Para um 'álbum pessoal' você não conseguir ver a própria intérprete na música, isso só mostra o quão pré-fabricado foi esse CD antes de Selena colocar seus vocais.

    The only good song is LYTLM as a balad, the rest of the songs are the same rhythm and the voice weak and without force, the breathing voice is boring so that makes the album gets a monotony beat. Revival still being the best album by Selena.

    Selena Gomez has released her second album under Interscope and I was very eager to listen to it because it’s said to be her diary from the last few trying years she has gone through. Unfortunately, the end result is a muddled project that failed to stick the landing. Part of the issues with “Rare” is the direction they went with on the production. The 3-4 songs (Look at Her Now, Lose YouSelena Gomez has released her second album under Interscope and I was very eager to listen to it because it’s said to be her diary from the last few trying years she has gone through. Unfortunately, the end result is a muddled project that failed to stick the landing. Part of the issues with “Rare” is the direction they went with on the production. The 3-4 songs (Look at Her Now, Lose You to Love Me, Ring, and Cut You Off) that stood out were brilliantly executed in my opinion. I felt the energy/emotions in those songs and are very relatable for everyone (to a certain degree) which draws the listener back to revisit them over and over. Then we’re left with the rest....although to be fair, the title track isn’t all too bad, just a bit too basic that gets saved by its production. “Fun” and “A Sweeter Place” are poison to this album and it’s quite unfortunate that Sweeter Place gets to close off the album after such a strong song (Cut You Off) got the album somewhat on track after some obvious fillers. The vocals were nothing to brag about and the lyrics weren’t strong either. Perhaps the album was hyped to the point where “Rare” didn’t stand a chance to even compete. It’s disappointing in all honesty...especially after we get a glimpse of what Selena Gomez can do, which is take the reins and really show us how talented she is. Maybe this album faced the problem of having too many cooks in the kitchen, that in the end her vision or original lyrics didn’t get to shine through.… Expand

    Dont relly understand the hype of the Selena stans here. I am a little bit disappointed. Every Song sounds a little similiar too me and it contains only a few Songs that you want to hear again. Lose you to love me is the strongest Song on the Album.

    Llevábamos tiempo sin escuchar algo nuevo de Selena Gómez, así que, cuatro años después, tras la noticia de su nuevo material y de su “regresó” todos estábamos ansiosos por conocer y por escuchar lo preparado. He de admitir que, en un principio esto me era un poco irrelevante pues no soy fan de esta artista pero, al escuchar su nueva canción “Lose To You Love Me” me voló la cabeza porLlevábamos tiempo sin escuchar algo nuevo de Selena Gómez, así que, cuatro años después, tras la noticia de su nuevo material y de su “regresó” todos estábamos ansiosos por conocer y por escuchar lo preparado. He de admitir que, en un principio esto me era un poco irrelevante pues no soy fan de esta artista pero, al escuchar su nueva canción “Lose To You Love Me” me voló la cabeza por completo, claro no mencionemos lo polémica que fue; el punto es que me gustó demasiado la canción e inicié a prestarle más atención a Selena, curiosa por todo lo que iba a traernos después. Look At Her Now salió inmediatamente y bueno, no fue tanto de mi agrado, supongo que por el ritmo pues no soy muy fan de ese tipo de música pero admitía que era buena la canción, a pesar de su “icónica” letra como “Mmmm mmmm” (de eso hablaré después).
    Estaba emocionada por la fecha en que su nuevo álbum iba a salir, tenía demasiada expectativa en que esta “era” fuera de mi agrado totalmente pues tenía la pinta de ser muy profundo e inspirador. En fin, llegó el día y lo primero que puedo decir de esto es que fue una completa decepción. Demasiado tiempo se esperó para poder escuchar algo nuevo y posiblemente innovador, y terminamos escuchando algo que parece que se hizo a las últimas, un artista que sólo buscó quitarse un peso de encima y publicar cualquier cosa. Puedo admitir que sí, las letras son muy buenas, tanto que lindas, es lo único que puedo llegar a aplaudirle a Selena porque queramos o no, llegamos a sentir empatía con ellas o llegamos a sentir el mensaje pero, dejando de eso a un lado, las letras llegan a pasar desapercibidas incluso.
    Cada canción que pasaba iba de mal en peor. Todas llenas de mil veces en donde se repite una y otra vez el título. Había canciones que me hacían dudar y me hacían preguntar como “¿realmente estoy escuchando a Selena Gómez?” Ó “¿esto debe de sorprenderme o gustarme?”. Y sí, ME ESTOY REFIRIENDO A RING, dioooos, esa canción me dio cringe, ¿cuál era el punto? Qué canción de hueva, no, más bien qué álbum de flojera y sin gracia. Me sentía cada vez más cerca del centro de la tierra, ahí con todas mis expectativas. Pero lo gracioso es que, seguía teniendo fe por alguna extraña razón (spoiler, se fue a la basura en cuanto escuchaba la siguiente canción).
    Nada nuevo, nada innovador.

    ¿Qué más puedo decir? A este punto me estoy imaginando todos los posibles comentarios que me pueden hacer por esta crítica, CRÍTICA. Esperaba muchísimo más de Selena, algo que me hiciera bailar, llorar, y disfrutar.    … Expand

    There are some good songs like LYTLM, the title track and I really like the bonus tracks from the deluxe version, but the songs like Fun, Ring, LAHN, Kinda Crazy are really ruining the whole album, like wtf especially Fun, I can't take that seriously.
    This would've been a better album if she scrapped those unlistenable songs and makes more better ones like LYTLM.

The album cover is very low quality and basic. I expected better, it seemed as if this was made on picsart. As I was listening to this album, i notice songs started repeating, some quickly made lyrics and beats. I could tell some of these songs were just simply fillers, which is bad for an album, especially one that took so long to make. The production wasn't great, again, songs sounded similar lyric and beat wise. Selena tried some new styles within this album, however she is better of sticking with straight pop/edm, like, "love me like a love song" and "wolves". After going to mid album, I noticed she started sampling other popular songs. She sampled Cassie's "Me & U" on her track "crowded room". Her song "Ring" is also sampled, AND Camila cabellos "havana". Her song "let me get me" samples ninhos "putana". Her song "fun" samples jon bellions "JT". Other songs could be sampled, however I do not notice anymore out of my head.

    Selena brags about breaking hearts and burning toast in a toaster? Low quality lyrics even though Julia Michaels helped on this album, I see Julia Michaels inspiration throughout this album, and I think Julia Michael's not a great producer.

    Her song "ring" sounds like shes talking about being manipulative, "I'm breakin' hearts like a heart attack

    The average song on this album had 5 extra writers, 6 writers including selena herself. I couldn't find a song I liked. This album could've went somewhere if it was produced better. The high ratings are coming from her fans only, this album doesn't deserve a high rating due to its repetitive, sampling and quickly produced songs.    … Expand

    No es muy agradable, estos álbumes personales suelen contar historias enfáticas en el amor, en la superación y en el agradecimiento a cada fanático, esta para mi es la peor era de Selena Gómez, no destaca en lo absoluto su trabajo, solo es enfático en hablar de vivencias, ¿Dónde esta la buena calidad y el sentido de superación?

    She had 5 years to create a beautiful masterpiece yet she came up with... this. She made rare as the opening and title track of the album yet nothing is really so special about it??? The production of the album sounds like a wannabe Bad Liar but horribly failed. Only one track stood off which is Cut You Off, others sound the same.

    This album is not original and doesn't tell a personal story. Rare is originally a demo from Charli XCX and Rings is a Normani reject. The sounds put me off to sleep. I can only listen to 3 songs in this album, Lose You to Love Me (her best one, looks misplaced compared to her other generic mediocre songs), People You Know and Let Me Get Me. The arrangement of the songs are messy, tells noThis album is not original and doesn't tell a personal story. Rare is originally a demo from Charli XCX and Rings is a Normani reject. The sounds put me off to sleep. I can only listen to 3 songs in this album, Lose You to Love Me (her best one, looks misplaced compared to her other generic mediocre songs), People You Know and Let Me Get Me. The arrangement of the songs are messy, tells no story, no character growth. i really enjoyed Revival and her non-album singles (Back to You, Wolves, Bad LIar) so this album really feels like an unneeded filler.     I had high expectations for this album, but after listening to it I cannot understand the hype. It's pop at its basic level. The high scores must be driven by Selena's many followers, but musically this album does not do it for me.

    She took 4 years to make this album and it is really bad the producing on the album is not good. The lyrics are good on song like “people I know”

    I am incredibly disappointed in this album. After hyping up some big comeback she came back worse than ever. Was hoping she'd pull it out of the bag but she just couldn't.

    Full of whispering. Lack of real singing talent. Only one good song, the rest are skips. I expected more but all she does is Rare. 0 versatility.

    this album was perfect to show how selena is a terrible artist. without talent and propped up on her ex boyfriend. what a shame. taylor swift is best, but I will rank 1 for the effort of trying to be relevant.

    Had high hopes for the album as people where hyping it up. Listened to it yesterday and i honestly hate it. Revival is better. Some songs sound like they were rushed or the production sounded off. Wont be listening again!!

    The vocals just aren’t doing it for me. Songs sound like Julia Michaels demos with strange syncopations that could have been created by toddlers and someone please get this girl some singing lessons.

    honestly? it was underwhelming. there are only 2 memorable songs and one of them is a song about her married ex moving on without her. despite the relationship being short and toxic in reality. most of the songs feature overly repetitive or onomatopoeic lyrics. not her best work.

    Gomez doesn’t show much variety in these songs. They come off very repetitive and she samples a lot of older songs, which isn’t a bad thing when credited. Rare is a direct rip off of Charlie cxc, Gomez is credited for the writing but no changes were made to the lyrics? Also, the title track Rare’s beat is a rip off of Indila’s Dernière Danes. Cut You Off ripped off the style of CamillaGomez doesn’t show much variety in these songs. They come off very repetitive and she samples a lot of older songs, which isn’t a bad thing when credited.     While none of these 13 songs attempt the subtle weirdness of “Bad Liar” and the emotional thesis—self-love!—can be a bit one-note, Rare is the 27-year-old’s most cohesive record to date. ... But it’s difficult to come away from Rare with any real perspective on who Gomez is other than that she doesn’t want to be the person she was, whoever that similarly mysterious shadow was.
