  1. This offering sets him apart from other acts and may secure his spot in the canon of bedroom crooners.
  2. He takes cues from R. Kelly, slyly mocking the self-parodying excesses of boudoir R&B while supplying the utilitarian goods: the sumptuous vocal harmonies and sultry beats upon which long nights beneath ceiling mirrors depend.
  3. Songz has really developed as a vocalist since his debut, and he’s more elastic and uses his falsetto judiciously. He’s clearly got a sentimental streak, though.
  4. This is as entertaining and frivolous as a one-night stand should be.
  5. While Ready is far from a perfect album, it seems Trey is learning how to inspirit his original works with the charm and inventiveness found in his freestyles and covers.
  6. What’s maddening and frustrating is that Trey has put out enough great material this year to make a truly brilliant album.

"Ready" is an album that you can listen to straight through without turning any songs. It starts with a "Panty Droppa" which introduces you into an album of pain and pleasure. This album touches every where that a male R&B artist should. Sex- "invented sex" "Panty Droppa (into)" "Jupiter Love" "Does he do it" "Neighbors Know My name" . Pain- "Love Lost" "yo side of the bed" "Holla if you need me" "One Love" . Fun- "I need a girl" "say ahh" "Lol :)" successful" . This album is the best male R&B album I have heard since Usher "Confessions". Well worth the listen. Expand

It is for this reason that I cant award him a high mark though I feel like his musical input is deserving of more. I anticipate more success for Trey but I am pretty sure I will never pick up any of his records. The truth is I deleted most of this album off my iPod. The standout tracks are "Say Aah" and "Black Roses" both of which I kept for future listening. 7/10 71/100 Collapse
