    Nothing but a shadow of his former self. Straight garbage. You would think that with the leading single "Walk on Water" addressing how he struggles to live up to his own name and past, that maybe he would pull it out the bag and give an album that longstanding fans deserve. Nope, just the same pop-ballad trash that has been accredited to him the past couple years.

The uptempo tracks retread the same old ground (with the exception of the occasional political commentary), and the more introspective tracks do the same but with bland, drawn out, forgettable pop choruses.     Best album since the Eminem Show gets better after multiple listens!! This is a different eminem and shows he's matured as marshall mathers the man and eminem the artist GOAT!

    Maybe I put a lot of expectation on this Eminem album. He did not sound unique and with unique sounds as he always brought. Songs with dubious production and with known samples, it sounded generic and not very authentic. There are some good tracks in your album like river and remind me, but they are by far, unoriginal. Sad

    It's ok. I could do without the cringy lines Marshall raps every now and then, but almost every hip hop album today has some cringe (whether people like to admit it or not).

    This is actually a good album. Some people expect Eminem to be X, other people expect him to be Y, and other people expect him to be Z, and they always have an excuse to criticize him and not let him be the undoubtedly greatest again. The truth is that he's the greatest, either if you want to accept it or not.

    Holy **** I can't believe i listened through this mess of an album. This was the first album Eminem dropped after I started listening to him in earlier 2017. I was so excited, as Eminem was the only artist I listened to at the time, then he drops Walk on water. I thought it was alright, but I didn't like the lack of drums, and I missed the energetic Em When the album dropped, I listened toHoly **** I can't believe i listened through this mess of an album. This was the first album Eminem dropped after I started listening to him in earlier 2017. I was so excited, as Eminem was the only artist I listened to at the time, then he drops Walk on water. I thought it was alright, but I didn't like the lack of drums, and I missed the energetic Em When the album dropped, I listened to the entire thing, multiple times, and added all of the songs to my playlist.... WHY? I forced myslef to like this because I wanted the new Em to be great, but let's face it... He isn't. The lyrics are embarrasing, the beats awful, and the mixing and features are just ****ty.     If this songs: "River (feat.Ed Sheeran), Bad Husband (feat. X Ambassadors) and Need Me (feat. P!nk) wasn't on the album, it would be a 9 for me.
    This album is one of those that every listening it gets better and emotional. "Arose", " In Your Head" and "Framed" are my favourite.

    This album is underrated and overhated. Yes, there are couple bad songs in this album, like Chloraseptic's very sloppy flow or Believe's average lyrics, the album overall is quite solid. The best songs on this album would have to be Walk On Water, Castle, and Arose

His Delivery is poor, and songwriting his ok (for his standards) it's messy, recovery was better, even though i would say Recovery was less emotional. If Eminem made an album with the emotional power of Revival and the delivery, beats (even the tone) of MTBMB SIDE A and B, it could beHonestly, there were some great songs (Walk on Water, Arose, Framed) but overall its Eminem's worst album.     I dont think this album is perfect, but it's definitely not as bad as many people have made it out to be. The only real song on here i find uninteresting is Untouchable mostly due to Em's delivery, other than that, every other song is perfectly fine. Sure, they aren't his best songs, but they're still good songs.

While this is his worst album, it is somewhat tolerable as some songs are quite good such as "Untouchable" and "Walk On Water", but majority of the songs are just lackluster pieces of music that are a tool, using mediocre pop artists for features to get more money and views. 80% songs aren't of substance, the classic trope of "I love my wife but I hate her"Eminem's worst album, period. Moreover, staccato flow on "Chloraseptic" and the ear-destroying chorus on "Framed" ruin the album further.     I really want to love this album, I can't. I'm torn because I would love to see Eminem's triumphant return.
    Lyrically and technically, he'll always be one of the greatest of all time and glimpses of his genius are certainly visible at times. Unfortunately, many of the songs are so poorly produced, sampled and dialed in that it really kills the overall flow of the album. One would wish    I really want to love this album, I can't. I'm torn because I would love to see Eminem's triumphant return.

    What I do appreciate about this effort is Eminem's matured outlook and perspectives. We can't expect him to make the music he made as a young man now that he's in his mid-40s. I just wish that his more powerful and important messages (Trump, racism etc) were met with a better sound and not some pop garbage hook out of the can.
    Eminem can do better, I strongly believe that he just needs a different kind of team behind his productions. I sure hope we get a chance to find out... Though, that may take another three to four years.

    I think I speak for many individuals by saying that Eminem has been a huge part of their life in one way or another. I loved his music during my adolescent days, and revisited his material when I went through some tough times this past summer. With that being said Eminem has a very similar career trajectory as the alternative rock band Weezer. They can both put out stunning material, andI think I speak for many individuals by saying that Eminem has been a huge part of their life in one way or another. With that being said Eminem has a very similar career trajectory as the alternative rock band Weezer. They can both put out stunning material, and some of the worst mainstream material imaginable. Revival is a misstep for Marshall after a great album in The Marshall Mathers LP 2, as a Recovery sound is reached for once again.

    I was hesitant before listening to this album thanks to the features list, and I think the best complement I can give is that its about what I expected. Ed Sheeran’s feature wasn’t as bad as I imagined it would be, but Kehlani comes through in that regard. I don’t know how, but she actually makes Eminem’s singing sound good. Pink, Alicia Keys and Skylar Grey have completely forgettable features, and Phresher does a horrendous job on the hook of “Chloraseptic”. X Ambassadors sound so monotone on their poor performance, so really Beyonce’s feature on “Walk on Water” might be the only feature highlight on the entire record.

    Sonically, Revival is all over the place. Similar to Kanye’s “The Life of Pablo”, we go from one idea to another without much cohesion. Is this a political record, or a record about the final stage of recovery? I would be fine with either one, but the ride becomes shaky when its hard to tell the aim. The album starts pretty rough to after the mediocre “Walk on Water” with the song “Believe”. Em takes on a trap beat, and does a terrible job on the hook with Lil Wayne quality level punchlines. The song “Like Home” is a pointed political song, but it is no “White America” or “Mosh”. Near the middle and toward the end there are way too many relationship songs that eventually just bleed into one another. I think a shortened tracklist could have done this album wonders.

    That’s not to say that there isn’t some good to be had on this album. “Framed” sounds like a Revival song sans the accents and has a hook that for some reason I love. “Remind Me” has Eminem taking a similar approach to the one used on Marshall Mathers LP 2 by taking a classic rock song and sampling it. This needs to happen more often, because all of these tracks have turned out great, (look at “Rhyme or Reason” or “So Far”). “Offended” sounds like classic Eminem, with a superhero cartoon sounding beat and an insane flow near the end. “Arose” is a great heart touching closer that fits well with the Revival theme and is a stand-out moment.

    Overall Revival is a mess. Eminem is without a doubt one of the most talented rappers ever, but his hook choices and production choices have continued to hurt his career. In addition to that some of the lyrics and flows are awful. When Eminem says things like “your booty is heavy duty like diarrhea”, or “I just got the air about me like wind chimes”, or “I’m swimming in that Egyptian River cause I’m in denial”, I die a little inside. Overall, I think Revival is a big step back for Marshall. While I’m sure some Eminem fans who like his more poppy material might love this, it just isn’t a record for me.    … Expand

A ton of generic pop-ballads that try to capture the mainstream radio success of Love The Way You Lie mixed with some of the most awful beats that I have ever heard create one of 2017's worst hip hop albums. Although Eminem is still lyrically fantastic and he retains his great flow as he gets older as seen in his guest verses on Speedom by Tech N9ne in 2015 and NoEminem's worst album yet. A ton of generic pop-ballads that try to capture the mainstream radio success of Love The Way You Lie mixed with some of the most awful beats that I have ever heard create one of 2017's worst hip hop albums. Although Eminem is still lyrically fantastic and he retains his great flow as he gets older as seen in his guest verses on Speedom by Tech N9ne in 2015 and No Favors by Big Sean this year, if a rapper has good lyricism and flow it doesn't necessarily mean that the rapper can create a good song and there is no better example of that then most of the songs on this album. There are actually a small handful of songs (Framed and Castle/Arose) that are actually good and worth checking out but this decent 20% does not make up for the average (Walk On Water, Chloraseptic, Believe, Offended) and awful (Any songs not listed previously) songs that make up the other 80% of the album. 4/10.… Expand

    What do you get when you take the most skilled rapper of all time and have him rap over beats and songs that are mediocre and just not very good? You get something like this album. He needs better songs, it's that simple. The skill and lyricism and all of that are A-1 as always.. but the songs aren't anything I'd like to listen to. With the exception of Framed.

    Em “Walk on Water”, outra faixa que me surpreende em ver Eminem rimando lentamente tentando ser mais sutil que a participação vergonhosa da Beyonce. Ouçam a intro de “Beautiful Pain”, onde Eminem entra de uma maneira sensacional introduzindo os vocais maravilhosos da Sia que no decorrer na música se torna mais frenético do que toda a performance dele nesse disco. Sem falar nos versos onde Beyonce canta com sutileza, e logo vem aqueles **** **** que mais lembra alguém fazendo sexo em local público do que ele falando realmente ao fundo.

    “River”, e a participação descartável do Ed Sheeran só surpreende na produção do Emile Haynie. O tema delicado e a composição dos versos do Eminem até que decentes, não fazem essa música se destacar nem como “boa”. E essa música termina de maneira muito incompleta para dar início a uma interlude que nem ao menos deveria existir.

    “Tragic Endings” e os versos da Skylar que mais me lembra as músicas de “sofrência” da Marilia Mendonça quando ela canta “Cause I’m so drunk off tragic endings”. Sem distinção, confesso que é uma das melhores performances do Eminem nesse álbum.

    Para fechar, “Need Me” um ressalte extremo de tão bom que essa música é. O protagonismo da P!nk com os vocais do Eminem de fundo, suave, isso sim é uma ótima ambientação musical. E mais uma música sobre relacionamento, diferente de outras, essa é a que tem mais força e cativação. A veracidade das batidas violentas traz algo extraordinário e mágico desde a performance de ambos até o gosto ao ouvir.

    Contudo, “Revival” não tem pontos positivos, é tosco, não traz lembranças boas do Slim Shady, o Rap God, e nem o egocentrismo hostil do Eminem. Lamento, mas isso é um lixo.

    This is one of Eminem’s best album’s to date. It has both the playful side of Slim Shady and the thoughtful and mature side of Marshall Mathers. With a very interesting blend of modern and classic beats. Definitely a great album, been listening to it on repeat since it came out!

    This album has a lot of enjoyable songs, like Castle,Arose and Framed,but not that good production on some songs and sometimes very dumb lyrics are the reason this is only a 7. Overall,a OK album.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I didn't want to hate this album. I honestly wanted to enjoy it. I'm not huge into Eminem, but his classic albums are undeniable. And while the Marshall Mathers LP 2 wasn't a masterpiece, it still was a solid comeback album and it had me thinking that Em might be back. Oh...does this hurt.

    I will give this album some credit, Em does sound energetic, his flow is solid for a lot of the track list, and there is a bombastic energy with the production. But this album is just a slog to get through, between Em being "woke" on the politically charged songs, such as his flat out terrible attempt at addressing racial issues on Untouchables that just prove to be ignorant (educations sucks for everyone in the US Em, not just for the black community), it's all just a horrible attempt at trying to recreate Love the Way You Lie, with all of these emotional and corny as hell instrumentals and all these features that do not match what-so-ever. The only good feature here is Beyonce on Walk on Water, but that's mostly because that's the best song here. As saccharine as that song is, it has the most weight to it and it's only song here that isn't overproduced!

    Here's what makes this album sting with how good it could have been. The song Bad Husband is Eminem apologizing to Kim. That's huge! And it does show that Em has grown up a lot. BUT the instrumental ruins it, with these glitchy electronic break-beats not mixing at all with the symphonic instrumentation, and X Ambassadors not fitting at all singing the chorus and just sounds so detached from what is going on. It's clear this song is trying to be another Headlights off of the Marshall Mathers LP 2, which is an apology to Eminem's mom. And as cheesy as that song is, it matched the tone and the singer from fun. matched the tone and sounded like he gets what Eminem is singing.

    Seriously this should have been so much better considering the material here! But Em just decided to make a long, sloggy album that is so damn saccharine and trying to get crossover play on the radio when Em isn't making himself look like an ass with his attempts at political statements. I am more forgiving here because it's not all terrible, but man considering what came before this should have been better!    … Expand

    One might say Revival is Recovery 2. I’d go as far to say it’s more of an Ultra Recovery Turbo. Everything the rap world hated about Recovery is here except turned up to 14. Pop features and bad choruses are just the first deadly sin this album commits. Just take a look at the tracklist and notice Em bafflingly decided Ed Sheeran was an essential element but 2 Chainz could be left off. TheOne might say Revival is Recovery 2. I’d go as far to say it’s more of an Ultra Recovery Turbo. Everything the rap world hated about Recovery is here except turned up to 14. Pop features and bad choruses are just the first deadly sin this album commits. Just take a look at the tracklist and notice Em bafflingly decided Ed Sheeran was an essential element but 2 Chainz could be left off. The production is the second atrocity Marshall blesses us with. Again the weird choice of bland Rick Rubin rock-rap beats and poppy dollar-store tracks are just awful.     Surely not Marshall's best but this project is undoubtedly solid, the wide variety of styles works as a compilation of his 20-year career, having 90's, 2000's, and 2010 Eminem in there. Overall with a much mature tone, as anticipated. Well crafted, quality album.

    Very good album, could argue it has been the best album since the Eminem show, all songs are catchy and many have been produced greatly. worst song is the song with pink.It has been very badly promoted and he should fire Rosenburg and get a new marketing team. overall very good album.

    He also needs to remember how to ride a beat again. He has his moments on this record, but it's still nothing compared to Till I Collapse, Rain Man, The Way I Am, Lose Yourself, etc.

    On top of those two fatal flaws, the rock hooks on here are atrocious and his pathetic attempts to shock are just sad. Maybe those Cosby jokes and lines about poop would have offended people in 1999 or whatever, but it's 2017 and he's almost 50. It's just sad now.

    The worst part of it is you can tell he still has the ability to be great, but he won't be again unless he makes some serious pivots from the tired crap he's been releasing for the past seven years.    … Expand

There were two songs that were much better, "Nowhere Fast" and "Offended" but they were also very mediocre at best and "Offended" is absolutely ruined by a chorus that's just tosh.

    His new track Believe explains it perfectly... "But how do you keep up the pace and the hunger pains once you've won the race? When that pool of exhaust is cooling off Cause you don't got nothing left to prove at all 'Cause you done already hit them with the coup de grâce" I    It may be a side step from his last 3 efforts, but it's still a joy to listen to the rap god.

    His new track Believe explains it perfectly...

    I mean, in all seriousness, what else could he do? We got about 5 more serious Em tracks, a few goofy ones, a few political tracks, radio friendly ones and even a trap song.

    Just imagine being Em and having to make an album that appeals to fans of his older music, Relapse and his newer "pop/rock" type tracks.

    Like it or not, he received a bunch of new fans when he released Recovery and he needs to appeal to everyone

    Literally gotten impossible to please all his fans.

    Despite the fact that this is definitely not his best work, his lyrical talent and the skill that is displayed when spitting his raps is clearly visible on this recent album. I may be biased because I'm a huge EMINEM fan, but Revival has fire: Walk on Water, River, Arose, Like Home and Framed are a few of the best songs on the album. Eminem delves into political rap, horrorcore and looksDespite the fact that this is definitely not his best work, his lyrical talent and the skill that is displayed when spitting his raps is clearly visible on this recent album. I may be biased because I'm a huge EMINEM fan, but Revival has fire: Walk on Water, River, Arose, Like Home and Framed are a few of the best songs on the album. Eminem delves into political rap, horrorcore and looks into his regrets and struggles of his past in songs like Arose (Great song). This album is awesome and I recommend Revival to anyone who is a fan of rap that you can hear the words to or is a fan of rap that has taste (unlike most of rap these days i.e. **** like mumble rap) or to anyone who is looking for some good music.… Expand

    Is this Eminem's best? No that bar has been set too high. Is this Eminem's worst? No that bar has been set too low. While some tweaks should have been made we definitely have a quality album from 45 year old Marshall Mathers who has already proved everything he has to prove. If the changes were made such as, changing the chorus on "Offended", removing "Untouchable", removing or tweaking "Heat," changing the structure on "Need Me" (I think Em's content is solid), or even adding Rihanna instead of Pink and removal of both Intro tracks, I think we would have a 13-14 song album that would've been a 10 out of 10 and not dragging on constantly. This would have also drawn more focus to the amazing end tracks.
    This album is a little bit of every Eminem style with tracks for everyone. Normal fans should find a few tracks they like and a few tracks they don't like. Stans, however, will love how it features basically every style of Eminem, even him trying some new. While it seems as if there is no clear theme present there is. The theme is Eminem and his style throughout his career, and struggling to find his style. The album opens with Em admitting he hasn't been his best lately, he's not God, he's flawed but he's going to Revive himself and find himself. From this point on we have Em taking us through every style of his career. He's experimenting with today's trap music on "Believe" and "Chloraseptic." We get hints of Encore Eminem on "Untouchable." As always Recovery Eminem is present on any song with a pop collab, except now the lines are sharper. The Eminem Show Eminem comes out for the political track "Like Home." Any Eminem song with a rock sample can be traced to Rick Ruben and MMLP, this is the case on "Remind Me" and "Heat." Eminem even revisits the Relapse era, with a touch of SSLP on "Framed." Throughout the album we have Em attempting to do this with all these different styles and by the end have Eminem REVIVING himself and finally saying what he wants to say and saying it how he wants to say it. The album itself can be summed up by the last 3 tracks: In Your Head, Castle, and Arose. Castle and Arose are meant to go together and are up there with the all time great Eminem tracks, and are the most meaningful tracks we've seen from Eminem in a while. The style is on par with The Eminem Show but the content reminds me of "Beautiful." Just like on Relapse the whole rest of the album seems completely different and then we get to the end and here we have Em being introspective saying hey I've been at my lowest, I was almost done ten years ago, and it's amazing how I've been able to come back and put out 4 more albums even if they're not up to everyone's standards but I'm here now and I'm finally just now starting to feel myself again and feel something with my music. If nothing else Revival or at least the last two tracks can be a Revival of Eminem's energy and putting all he has into his music again.
    While many were hoping Revival would be Eminem returning to when he was releasing the best stuff he ever has, it is instead about Eminem struggling to get back to that point, and then at the end FINALLY finding himself again as we are about to enter a new era of Eminem as the old one is now thrown out. We are given a new artist here, and I truly think Eminem's next album, whenever it does come out, will finally be on the same pedestal as the Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show.    … Expand

    99% of Eminem albums are underappreciated when they first come out. Outside of The Eminem Show, I think every Eminem album has received scathing initial reviews, which later proved to be too hasty. I love Framed, Believe, Arose, Castle, Tragic Endings, Remind Me, and hell even the Ed Sheeran feature made for a decent tune. People will come around, just wait.

    There is something for everyone on this record.
    So not everyone wonna like every song on it but you can't deny that some of the tracks are lit.
    Good lyrics and overall a solid storytelling and beats.

    The best thing about this album is that there will at least be a few songs you will like depending on your favorite Eminem era. Love SSLP, MMLP, and TES?     Far from his best work, this album was damaged by the attempt to satisfy too many people, almost as if there were several album concepts and he decided to go with all of them. There was a little bit for everyone except for the Slim Shady fans who can't seem to understand that the man is getting too old for that high pitched voiced and that content. 'Em himself doesn't help much either. While at times sounding emotional and invested in his lines, the actual lines and his flow leave a LOT to be desired ("Believe" and "Chloraseptic"). The topics he covers are the same as before too, making his performances feel tiring. The guests (mostly pop artists) often don't offer anything notable, and while some 'Em fans might enjoy this (80 minute!) project, I highly suggest skipping it.

    This is the best album he's made since The Eminem Show. It has a great mix of all of his different styles while at the same time making the album feel very well put together by having every song flow very well between each other. 10/10

I could personally do without any of the "pop" tracks with the exception of Remind Me. Believe, Framed, Offended, Heat, and Chloraspetic are good solid traditional Eminem wordplay songs. I can do without the politics but that has to do with any musician regardless of political alignment. And then pop songs everyone complains about are products of our generation i.e. most people seem to not care about lyrics (see opinion above.) Castle and Arose are also two pretty good heart felt songs with good messages and typical Em style. I do think this album is all over the place and there are a lot of samples. I didn't as I mentioned enjoy some of the more politically driven songs because I enjoy music as an escape. Personally the more poppy songs aren't for me but it gave me enough enjoyment and I can appreciate the effort and still overall ability of Eminem as a rapper.

    If you really don't like this album that's your opinion but at least form one that doesn't seem so misguided or premeditated. However, I think for those who prefer today's music to say Em is "washed up" is a joke because again - lyrical ability and flow are what make the best rappers great and Em still has that in spades. Decent album 7 out of 10. Not the greatest but not complete trash like people like Chase want to label it.    … Expand

I don't like the song with Pink or Tragic Endings, but the rest of the album is fantastic. I know people do not like the choppy flow, but that is the word play and technical skill of Eminem.     Lyrically em still got it, it's got every aspect of eminem in this album. The slim shady alter ego is present in songs like framed, heat, you got marshal in songs like bad husband, castle, and eminem in tracks like walk on water, and believe. It's a good album overall except you don't like the direction of is production, too much of rock arena kind of beats.

    This album is a lot of fun, and I'm glad I bought it on launch day. So far my favorite songs are "offended", "framed", "castle" and "believe".

    I'm surprised the critics are giving it mixed reviews. I'm having a lot of fun listening to it!

    The album was released with such hype. The sequel to his two other average albums, Relapse and Recovery see Eminem approaching a clear tumble down the ranks. Despite still being one of the most recognised figures in music it doesn't seem to be his prime in this day and age.

    This album is a generally mixed one in my opinion. With tracks such as "River" and "Offended" where Eminem shows off his lyrical talent and with tracks such as "Heat" it's garbage. For me, it's a mixed rating.

    In summary, leave his political songs alone. they aren't worth your time unless you enjoy the same social justice rhetoric we've all heard a million times before from the media. His other songs, though lacking innovation, still hold up, bringing this mixed bag of disappointment to 5/10. It's average. Hopefully in the future Eminem can bring more insight to his work to make his political songs worth a listen.    … Expand

It met my expectations. I assume the better you are people don't appreciate you and take the good albums for granted. 10/10 RAP GOD IS BACK!!

If you're only a fan of his first three albums then most likely you will not enjoy this one. However, as a fan of most of his work I thoroughly enjoyed Revival. The album closes out on two great tracks that tug at the heartstrings depicting Eminem's literal revival in the relapse era. This does not seem to be the last album of his career as he continues to function like a rhyme factory. Perhaps running out of things to rap about but even if Eminem releases an album rapping about literally nothing the lyricism will still be great.… Expand

    Solid album and get's better with every listen. Was the first Em album I didn't initially click with but once I took a second listen I loved it. As he has a track for everyone the initial listen can be overwhelming but its a grower of an album.

    Great comeback, especially castle and arose, amazing closing songs, only thing missing is a Ken Kaniff skit, would loved to hear Ken on the album. Amazing.

    The album contains a lot of high-points and some pretty average tracks. IMO the highs makes up for the lows. The album is packed with a bunch of nice punchlines and wordplay, and in true Eminem fashion it also contains some very graphic and gut wrenching imagery.

    I used to like Eminem, but now he is so angry - he sounds terrible. Attacking Trump is a bad idea, so say goodbye to your career Em. You forget that half the nation voted for him. KEEP POLITICS OUT OF MUSIC.

    Absolutely terrible album. There isn't one song on here that I can really listen to and say is good. Couple of manageable songs, and the rest is just loud noise. Absolutely disappointed in Eminem. Worst album of his career, and one of the worst of 2017. Shame.

Picking up some songs, Arose and Castle are brilliant, River, Bad Husband and Like Home are pretty good too, but the rest is just uninspiring. Eminem still has the real lyrical ability he always has and actually sounds more lyrical than some of his past releases in some songs. His word play is great and flow is also great. It feels like this album is a refined style of all three of his past releases. He even manages to put a few gems on here that reminded me of his early styles like "The Eminem Show" and "MMLP". The standout songs for me were "Arose", "Framed", "Believe", "Chloraseptic" and "River". I usually dislike the pop features he has but they make a lot of these songs sound even better. "River" is a good example of what a hip hop song can gain from a well used chorus from a pop or contemporary folk artist. His last few albums since "Relapse" left me hungry for more because I felt like Eminem could have added something more to those projects. I feel extremely satisfied this time around. Eminem really outdid himself for the first time in a very long time and I hope everyone else can enjoy it as much as I have been. Definitely worth a purchase. Side note. I disliked tragic endings and nowhere fast, they weren't exactly bad, just not my style.… Expand

    I dont get all those people who expect Em to rap like he did 20y ago. Are you the same person you were 20y ago?
    To be fair there are 1 or 2 songs that drag the score down but overall its a pretty good LP.
    As for the features to me personally Khelani outperformed all the others.
    Castle and arose, what a way to end.

    Eminem is back and better than ever with his fair share of comedy in songs like Offended and heartfelt messages in songs like Arose and Bad Husband. This album has a hint of each one of his former albums in it, so it is perfect for Eminem fans. It reaches out into other fans with pop features from Alicia Keys and Ed Sheeran as well

If you came into it expecting a bunch of Lose Yourselfs or Rap Gods then you'll be very disappointed. You can tell who really likes music and who just wants another pop banger by their opinion on REVIVAL. ThisThis album is really good.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. sadly Eminem hasn't made anything memorable since his old work. he has talent but it seems at this point he doesn't show a lot of potential and creativity in creating good music anymore. hes relying on lackluster production, horrible singing and pop artists. this coming from a man that use to scorn pop culture ends up becoming what he used to hate. i will stick to his past works. furthermore the record is too political with weak jabs at the orange man in office. this album shows an example of how most modern entertainment has been completely destroyed by celebrities and musicians feeling the need to preach on their soapbox and lecture people on how they should feel and think about current issues when its not their purpose at all but to entertain us. em you did this on encore which was also trash. repeating past mistakes and not learning from them echoes heavily here. in conclusion the guest features dont bring anything to the album either. dissing the current era while collaborating with them makes you look like a huge hypocrite… Expand

    There's even stuff for people who are crazy enough to like trap beats or who are fans of P!nk! **** knows where the industry is heading because I don't.

    BECAUSE this has songs for everyone, many people will hate it, or many people will give it a mixed review, but keep in mind.

    This isn't because certain songs are bad (Although the P!nk one is SERIOUSLY questionable) but because they didn't get MORE of what they love.

    I wish there were 19 songs like Castle, but the fact that there aren't doesn't make it bad at all, and I am not saying it is excellent an excellent album just because I like Castle.

    I'm saying it's 10/10 because that one guy who always complains there's no Relapse 2 got his Framed.
    Those that liked Recovery got Tragic Endings, Offended is faster than Rap God and WHY THE HELL IS THE REVIVAL (INTERLUDE) NOT A FULL SONG?

    You get your Shady in Offended and if you like the trash that goes on as "rap" nowadays, Chloraseptic will show you that while you are entitled to an opinion, there's much better to be had.

    Not everybody relates to Untouchable and Like Home, but you've surely heard the samples from Remind Me and In Your Head before... and hopefully we won't hear Rick Rubin too much in the future!

    The fact that the letter I doesn't have a dot above it when it is not capitalized is ANNOYING, but not as much as people who didn't like the accents in Relapse, you caught that one in Heat, did you not?

    There was a "2" going on in the medicine advertising of Revival. It better be CD 2 or the second album coming, because THIS IS GOOD.

    Go on every song in particular and see the people saying "This is my favorite", "This is so good", "This is great".

    "Y is decent but it doesn't compare to X" is simply stupid. Listen to Castle, it's EXACTLY the mindset that Eminem did not like back with Infinite.

    Being compared to someone else is an insult, even if that someone else is yourself.

    Just go ahead and say that you don't have any reason and rated the album badly because you felt like it. There's nothing stopping you from listening to TES or whatever else you want more of. This was never supposed to TES.

    This is Curtain Call 2.0 more than it is a a standalone album, and it does it in a great way and it's a popular thought that as a final album this would be a golden mausoleum.

    But in Arose he's out of the bathroom, he picked up the script, he's readying his voice.

    At least a third of the tracks are songs I could do without. The other two-thirds show that whether you love or hate the modern day Marshall Mathers, he's still as relevant as he ever was.
