The hipster name to love this season. Altough enjoyable, I feel litte connection to the songs or themes. It's like a good artist playing on a local bar, but not something of wider appeal.

Semi decent music but shows little character of Demarco and imo is missing something that makes me want to listen to it again. Just sounds like music to me, nothing more.

Sesame St cool guy, Mac DeMarco, has more personality than his music. I don’t think he has done enough in this album. His album songs definitely have style but fail at making a connection. At most I would call this album pleasant, worthy of playing in the background at a low-key party. To me, it’s like he only has one song and has just altered it to make many songs. It seems to me that he has already reached his limited potential. I’d hang out with the guy though. Expand

Recorded in his Brooklyn apartment, Salad Days tosses off the same charmed, lazy pop songs with a balsamic aftertaste.

A simple record to listen to under the sun that has a couple of knowing winks about going steady and treating your pals right, but nothing you need worry about.
