So samey are these tracks that you could sequence them all in a completely different, random order, and the album would still sound exactly the same.

Although it exhibits significant growing pains, it still makes for an exciting and entertaining spin.

The occasional sense of compositional confusion makes sense: even if it doesn't always result in a thrilling listen, Seek Warmer Climes captures a promising band in transition.

Seek Warmer Climes is still more visceral than cerebral. It washes over you in a foul, cold, gritty spray, and you can hardly breathe when it’s coming straight at you.

This is a moody, angry, and soulful export from what modern anthropology insists is a happy-go-lucky area--Denmark.

It’s an album often more complicated than it seems, and that it what makes it a solid debut, even if sometimes fruitful complication fumbles into confusion.

Seek Warmer Climes is itself predatory--but with a delicate, skeletal shudder, it turns that hunger into a lonely howl.

Adrian Toubro sings like every word causes him a jolt of pain, but his songs are literate and fine-crafted, reading like distilled existential dramas.

With Seek Warmer Climes' slight redirection, Toubro and Lower offer mantras to live by, beguilingly presented and difficult to ignore, but with a serious sting in the tail.

Ultimately, Seek Warmer Climes subsists on mood and atmosphere, seemingly hoping that the listener will too. At its best, it’s an engagingly stylish record, an agreeably abstract work of oblique angles and wintery spaces.

Lower stand out for their unique blend of cathartic explosions and restraint, creating something remarkably powerful in their use of dynamics and tense pacing.

The band demonstrates its growth from angst-driven punks to thematic artists (although still retaining enough angst) by having developed and refined their musical style, as well as further grasped the emotions that are intertwined within the songs’ depths.

It’s not the most cohesive album--it darts around from one idea to the next quicker than you can bat an eyelid--but it is without a doubt exciting and enthralling.

This band sounds like a ghost from the past ala Bauhaus especially, maybe with hints of Death In June and Christian Death. I love this kind ofThis band sounds like a ghost from the past ala Bauhaus especially, maybe with hints of Death In June and Christian Death. I love this kind of music and Lower does it very well. I like them much more then contemporaries Iceage who sound very punk/hardcore. ...this band has a more of a goth feel with warmer melodies, very poetic. A new generation emerges! Full Review »
