Jan 21, 2020Although Seeking Thrills has many brilliant tracks, ‘About Work The Dancefloor’ is still Georgia’s signature song – and a neat summation of her mind set. It seems that while thinking about and working tirelessly on her songs, she can slip into dreams of their impact in a packed venue. Fortunately, Seeking Thrills is often good enough to take listeners to that delirious high with her.
-
Jan 13, 2020Seeking Thrills sounds full-fat, not free-from. Awash in euphoria blowbacks and pre-loved synth-pop, this is a record that proves the dynamics of a good time benefit from a clear mind.
-
Jan 13, 2020The first great album of a new decade is one that promises to inspire a new generation of clubbers and hedonists with the joy of some of the most perfect pop you could ever hope to hear.
-
Jan 10, 2020Even when it’s clumsy, Seeking Thrills never feels manufactured. It’s a passion project, a result of trial and error, the singular product of someone learning to write for her own voice.
-
Jan 10, 2020Georgia splices the beat and twists the synths into an eerie doomscape, yet it’s strangely comforting – her reminder that while this night may have ended, there’s always tomorrow.
-
Jan 10, 2020She exudes the beauty of an artist comfortable in the idea of taking risks, an asset she’d do well to keep hold of as, from what exists on this record, you feel that a classic is just around the corner.
-
Jan 10, 2020Like the first Georgia album, Seeking Thrills is a sophisticated, emotionally complex pop effort that seems to encapsulate the London native's life experiences to date.
-
Jan 9, 2020Seeking Thrills sees Georgia lean in much more eagerly on the late-night grooves that have been supporting her breakthrough. ’Started Out’ and ‘About Work The Dancefloor’ make for solid, established openers, but there’s no shortage of other ideas that make complete sense in the soundtrack of modern lives.
-
Jan 9, 2020It's a spectacularly physical and restless album and one that never occupies the same space for too long. It's the embodiment of what it means to come alive on the dancefloor. This is your album. Enjoy it.

Jan 9, 2020Barnes is blessed with the ability to take vintage influences and absorb them so thoroughly that what seeps out sounds different from her source material, and stamped with her own character.
-
Jan 8, 2020Even when Georgia sings about relationships, love, romance and all that standard pop music fodder, her lyrics tend to double as tributes to the joy of dance.
-
Jan 8, 2020Each song stands out as its own unique piece of the puzzle, a quality that is easy to lose on electro-pop albums. The standout tracks will continue to impress while the rest will add to an increasingly impressive body of work.
-
UncutJan 8, 2020This, bara clutch of mellow moments, has unclouded ambitions to pack the dancefloor. [Feb 2020, p.27]
-
Jan 7, 2020Seeking Thrills is an album that delivers on its initial promise, proving that the upward trajectory Georgia currently finds herself on can only continue.
-
MojoJan 7, 2020In the album's second half, Georgia aims beyond euphoria and thrills with Mellow and Ray Gun's hip-hop shade, Honey Dripping Sky's aching power ballad and Ultimate Sailor's Tangerine Dream-style banks of ambient synths. [Feb 2020, p.92]
-
Q MagazineJan 7, 2020Seeking Thrills is an artfully constructed yet instantly enjoyable tribute to dancefloor deliverance in all its forms. [Feb 2020, p.117]
-
Jan 7, 2020It’s not quite picture perfect, but ‘Seeking Thrills’ is Georgia’s jubilant and insightful document of the life that moves under the disco lights.
-
Jan 7, 2020It’s difficult not to wish that the entire album was full of the same ingenuity as its first half, because there's so much potential and talent evident in those first tracks. It’s still early days, though, and the huge themes and inspirations Georgia plays with in Seeking Thrills showcase a true rising star of British pop.
