JohnnyVJul 24, 2003Beautiful. Not cohesive, more like floating in a warm cloud.......very ambitious. And at least 80% of the time on this album, I think those ambitions are acheived.

MagnetThere are great moments that grasp for--and sometimes reach--the bombastic ground between Radiohead's pop days and Sunny Day Real Estate's proggier side; then there are long stretches that fail to push any buttons at all. [#59, p.90]

At times on Song in the Air, I'm reminded of what it might sound like if Sigur Ros, Radiohead, and Jimmy Eat World were all merged together.

Song in the Air is a far more dynamic and internally cohesive record than any of the band's previous efforts.
