    Just a great album, warm electronics with acoustic and beautifully played instruments woven on top...accesible but intelligent songs and aborbing vocals. I wish they reached more people...they should with this record.

    Songs You Make at Night serves to place Tunng as spiritual kin to peak Moody Blues or Rotary Connection. Musically, though, Tunng remains in a class of its own.

    The melodies are simple but lovely, often spelled out on tumbling acoustic guitar, as on Like Water, before being taken up by the group. It’s wonderful to have them back.

    This latest album is still a fair amount bubblier than early works, with the electronic part more prominent than on Mother’s Daughter or Good Arrows, yet it has the same recognizable magic as Tunng’s best work, in hectically complicated arrangements that melt into simplicity and sleek modern surfaces atop centuries-old modalities.
