It is an album as confident as its predecessor and just as able to deliver upon it. It is Aksnes’ finest release to date and guarantees the essentiality of her artistic duologue.

It is pop music for the future – unpredictable, forceful, winsome and primal in equal measure. As long as Aurora is allowed to keep her eyes wide open, the sky really is the limit for this powerful creative force.

This is a curious, wilfully inventive album that deserves wider attention.

The album shines with crisp production, a dynamic of extremes and Aurora’s unflinchingly confident performance and message.

While uneven, it's an album that sticks, both for its theatrical melodies and uncommon benevolence.

Even as the production’s impact dips in the midst of playtime, when the final note of ‘The Seed’ plays what’s left in one’s memory is only the good, and for that Aurora’s latest album succeeds.

There’s a focus on tribal percussion and a multitude of vocal techniques you don’t expect on a pop album: folky vocables, angular melodies, overdubbing, a male choir. This is more enthralling on some tracks than others.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

Aurora outdid herself, experimented a lot and it turned out to be great. She is such a great songwriter and producer too

This album is beautiful to put it simply. The mix of instrumentals and vocals really show how much AURORA has progressed as an artist.
