A number of the songs on Talon are very personal and show an uncommon, brutally honest vulnerability.

The Front Bottoms will soundtrack your life until it's like you've never been without them. [Jun 2013, p.96]

An album that's engrossing and just a little hard to break away from--but in a good way, of course.

Under Brian Sella's smartypants lyrics and eye-catching admissions is a beating heart and a rare honesty. [1 Jun 2013, p.53]

Their self-titled from 2011, is one of my favorites ever but I personally think they stepped it up a notch with Talon of the Hawk. Everything is more refined and, The Front Bottoms kept their same style totally and completely. Too many bands I really used to like have been changing their sound lately so they can widen their fan base. It's a relief these guys kept it real. The Front Bottoms are as real as it gets. Brian is an unreal lyricist and the chemistry the band has is crazy. Get this album. Don't be a dingus.
