Ambitious synth and baroque pop tunes make Ten Love Songs a poignant, melodic, and impressive release from this veteran songwriter. Overall, one of the best of 2015 so far.

Some of the tracks aren't that interesting, some seem to drag, but each song offers something different. That is very appreciated. Sonically, each song is an experience. "Kamikaze" and "Trust Me" are excellent songs, and the record as a whole is a mature form of pop that isn't heard too often.

It's an album whose sound is huge and atmospheric. Susanne manages to find a perfect balance between gorgeous electronics and chamber music, inserting a majestic organ on "Accelerate" and "Fade Away" and stretching out a glorious baroque pop moment on the epic "Memorial". It's a departure from her usual sound, sometimes her music on "Ten Love Songs" is actually radio-friendly ("Kamikaze" being a full-on eurodance-ish killer track, also one of the record's highlights), but each song retains her genius, her lyrics and her signature unsettling atmosphere. It's less darker, but she pulls off a beautiful style shift. Her less sparkling tracks like "Trust me" or "Silencer" are amazingly done and blend perfectly in the mix. I have nothing bad to say about this record, and I can actually say that this genre fits her really well and enables her to expand her creativity and be more daring. "Ten Love Songs" is a musical adventure, sometimes blazing, sometimes chilled out, but always surprising. One of the best pop albums in recent years. Expand

When you look up "Exellence" in a dictionary, you'll see the definition to it is "Ten Love Songs by Susanne Sundfør". Arguably best album of 2015, and one of the best from this decade.

A bit too accessible than I like a Susanne Sundfor record to be, but I'm not surprised that this is what she put out after working with M83 and Royksopp so much over the past couple years. Lots of "bangers" on this one which I tend to skip, but the non radio-friendly tracks are stellar (Darlings, Silencer, Insects). All in all a decent record, but I hope she goes back to creepy weirdA bit too accessible than I like a Susanne Sundfor record to be, but I'm not surprised that this is what she put out after working with M83 and Royksopp so much over the past couple years. One of the best records of the past decade, and still sounds fresh! Melodies get stuck in your head forever. Never heard of her, but this record is criminally underrated.

The frequent Röyksopp collaborator has clearly learned a thing or two from the dance mavens, sprinkling Ten Love Songs with the mainstream-minded, four-on-the-floor thumping that should make American pop stars seethe with envy.

Ten dark and lovely reasons why love hurts. [Apr 2015, p.84]

For it's pop smarts, Ten Love Songs feels like Sundfor's international breakthrough. But it's everything else--the disquieting atmosphere, her voice, the sinuous, haunting melodies it carries--which sets it apart. [Mar 2015, p.93]
