  1. This is CocoRosie's best long-player yet, and a sure contender for album of the year.
  2. Adventures is a record that is just as quirky as it is brilliant.
  3. This album provides a gateway to a spine-tingling and thought-provoking experience which more than compensates for the intermittent poor man's Bjork moments.

It's not everyone's glass of absinthe, but Adventures will find a happy reception among listeners who want an occasional hallucination to go with their usual woozy drunkenness. [#75, p.94]
  5. The more lukewarm segments of Ghosthorse weigh its worth down like saddlebags filled with iron, particularly the trip-hop confessional sections. But even these lesser moments contribute to a greater good when all is said and done, adding up to a slightly cinematic experience best witnessed with full attention fixed on the little details.
  6. The production is cleaner this time around, a mixed blessing that steals some of the band's messy, homemade charm in favor of a richer, atmospheric effect.
  7. Once they could juggle being both captivating and grating. Today, they're just the latter.

CocoRosie is consistantly stunning and each one of their albums has been among itst year's best. The Sierra sisters have honed in on CocoRosie is consistantly stunning and each one of their albums has been among itst year's best. The Sierra sisters have honed in on their strenghts and crafted a very cohessiive record that delves further into their experimental production methods and poignat charm. A lot of people throw out 10's on the metacritic user circuit like it's nothing, but I don't give take perfect scores lightly. This is very deserving of a perfect score. Expand

I don't think the badly-reviewing critics are accurate. This is much less annoying than their previous album, Noah's Ark. Though I don't think the badly-reviewing critics are accurate. This is much less annoying than their previous album, Noah's Ark. Though over-the-top, as they always are, I think this is their best yet. Well written, purer cleaner and more refined recording. it's just a lot more enjoyable than La Maison or Noah's Ark. By far. best tracks: Japan, Werewolf, Raphael worst tracks: none. Expand
