Once The Blue of Distance recedes into silence, there’s a distinct sense of time having been gently bent to Saxl’s will. The album feels simultaneously long and short, fast and slow — it’s all of these things at once, forming elegant waves that wash over you.

Elori Saxl's concept behind The Blue of Distance is undoubtedly striking and ambitious. Still, she's managed to take it a step further – creating a unique musical project that is both distinctive and highly enjoyable. Like nature she observes all around her, Elori Saxl's music is a highly immersive experience.

The Blue of Distance refers to distant mountains appearing blue due to the scattering of higher-frequency light. An apt name for Saxl's meditative, ultimately wistful-feeling album, it also evokes its persistently immersive water themes.
