MarcDJun 5, 2005The sound is in and bands like The Bravery are scoring big with loads of their cds being sold. A good effort. But nothing we haven't heard before.

-
KellyKApr 1, 2005Heard them on XM 2 months ago. Loved Honest mistake from start. THey are a new band that needs to shape thier identity and show thier strengths as a musicians and they'll be around for a while.
-
-
JenniferNApr 25, 2005I don't see whats so bad about it. Endicott is fit and it is a great album. its got great tunes and lyrics.
-
-
JohnRMay 3, 2005You're all fools...These guys were "punk" less than 2 years ago...Do some homework on them. Their 'feud' with The Killers is irrelevant. Of course the guy in the Killers is a jerk. Doesn't mean these guys aren't jumping on an already irritating bandwagon. Boring, predictable and lyrically sterile.

-
EnelyEOct 4, 2005I really love that album.

[Anonymous]Mar 30, 2005After hiring an image consultant and obfuscating his real age, the singer could have maybe learned how to write one good song. This album is, unfortunately, completely forgettable.

AnouvongApr 16, 2005I don't understand what s so horrifically bad about it? Awesome riffs, sneering vocals, and a dance-ability rating off the scale, i think its rather good actually...

BeetlebumApr 3, 2005The Bravery are The Menswear of there time.

-
joshuabApr 4, 2005i know ive heard this somewhere before but i like what i hear. don't be afraid to like this group because you don't feel it's origionallity. Everyone has to be inspired by someone or something....nothing is truely origional...So take it for what it is
-
-
AltairNApr 4, 2005Well, it sounds really much like the neo-retro stuff that is out right now...The Killers, The Faint, etc...all the same I think.
-
-
MusicMavenApr 4, 2005These guys are the to the neo-80's "scene" (Interpol, British Sea Power, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, etc.) what Stone Temple Pilots were to the grunge "scene" of the early 90's -- bandwagon jumpers looking to cash in on a trend. STP managed to evolve and put together enough decent songs to fill a greatest hits album. The Bravery would be lucky to make it that far.

-
daisyfMay 13, 2005this album is sick! I haven't heard anything like it in quite a while, and was totally blown away when I first saw them. They are really one of the best new bands out there and there album definitley shows it.

joselMay 30, 2005cool revived, revamped 80s sounds for the 21st century. yeah!

-
asezzalcrudMay 9, 2005Good Album... Good Band. They themselves have not sad that they are trying to invent something new, so why all these people who 'dis' the album say that? The Killers are completely irrelevent... At All.

IvanJSep 20, 2005I don't see what's with all this Killers-wannabe shit. The Bravery have a different sound plus their album doesn't get too slow as does The Killers' one. I think this album is great and I'm anxiously waiting for the next release. This could me my next favourite band. Hope they won't spoil it all!!

-
YasirHMar 29, 2005this cd is amazing! its been the exact sound that i was pretty much waiting for (80's meets punk) perfect band, perfect album!
-
-
JordanBMar 29, 2005Although Honest Mistake and Unconditional are two of the catchiest songs 2005 has heard so far, the album as a whole is far from remarkable - and displays a laziness that one expects to hear at the end of a hot new musical movement, rather than the beginning.
-
-
kerrinMar 29, 2005I love the bravery. Ive been waiting for the album for a month now. And i have to say that they are awesome live, and soooo nice.
-
-
PatchVMar 29, 2005Fuck the Hives, these motherfuckers are good.
-
-
ZackWMar 30, 2005Another band joins the overcrowded 80s-revival bandwagon. Enough already.
-
-
VladAMar 30, 2005Ok, this is one of those typical major releases that has potential great singles, but forgettable album tracks. Unconditional, No Brakes, Tyrant are unbelievably catchy and yes The Bravery rips off 80s post punk new wave better than the The Killers, but songs like Public Service Announcement remind you that this is a major studio release indented to get the mall kids into this stuff.
-
-
SeanTasticMar 31, 2005Dull dull dull. I'm not one to denounce retro for being... well, retro, but this adds nothing new. Not as catchy or meaninful as their contemporaries, most songs end up somewhere between pointless and ridiculous.
-
-
VolatileAcidApr 1, 2005Can;t believe this band are out of New York. I thought they were English. Regardless, they Rock, literally! amazing tunes, I had to buy the album (10/10)
-
-
DeanBApr 11, 2005It's definitely not original, but I've never cared much for that. I like jaunty pop songs, and theres quite a few great ones on this album. Plus having seen them live they can really perform. Plenty of arrogant attitude, as shown by the subject matter of the lyrics!
-
-
JakeApr 12, 2005Wake me when it's over...
-
-
PiersApr 15, 2005Nothing extraordinary - definitely not as good as the Killers album, 'Hot Fuss'.
-
-
KimKApr 19, 2005Sounds like U2 doing a Cars album. One entire ton of fun!
-
-
house9Apr 24, 2005the bravery are great...most music is undeniably trendy, and if the bravery can be categorized as trendy pop, well, hallelujah! there may be hope for top 40 yet.
-
-
StopDropandRollApr 28, 2005This album is one of my favorites! The Bravery's style and sound mesh perfectly in catchy and upbeat songs such as "Public Service Announcement" and "Fearless". While they can take on a somewhat darker (but not too dark mind you) persona with songs such as "An Honest Mistake" and "Tyrant". If you love to laugh, brood, and dance, pick up this CD N-O-W-!
-
-
EdwardEApr 4, 2005I returned this disc after 5 listens. The singer's voice is unbearable & the music is uninteresting. They try to hard to be The Killers & their efforts are laughable.

-
SaeedGMay 10, 2005Has some brilliantly catchy moments, but is let down by lack of progression and a "sameness'" vibe. Hightlights: A Honest Mistake, Unconditional, No Brakes Skip: Public Service Announcement, Tyrant
-
-
DCMay 27, 2005Well, a couple very catchy tracks that will be forgotton in a year or so; a bunch of background music that I already forgotton; and a couple of unlistenable tracks.

-
KaylaMay 5, 2005I didn't even know who the bravery was until my friend told me to pick up their cd. Me and her are like the only ones in our area who listen to it and we think the are FRICKIN AWESOME!!! They have a sound that is totally them and its so addicting. I love their music and listen to them almost every morning. Sam is a wonderful singer and I think he is a God!
-
-
HelenBMay 7, 2005This CD is awesome - their video is over the top!!! It's about time...

vicky....Jun 14, 2005It makes funner doing the dishes and gave my iPod some flare.... In my way of thinking anyways....
-
-
Claire!!Jun 14, 2005I think their album is worth the money, this is a leap from ordinary rock... Anyone who rated them below 5-6 are SCEPTICS. I though they sucked to, until afterI REALLY listened to honest mistake.

CosmoPrelogJun 16, 2005Once in a great while a band comes along and changes everything. This is not one of those bands.
-
-
DwightVJun 16, 2005This album has style AND SUBSTANCE. If you like The Killers, you'll definately like The Bravery.
-
-
PhilGJun 29, 2005Definitely one of the best albums released in a long time. Much better than the Killers. Great live band tool. Buy the cd - you won't be dissappinted!
-
-
bbbJun 9, 2005this band is just cashing in on the whole "retro-craze". you should all be ashamed of yourselves for supporting this crap........
-
-
GillianRJul 25, 2005This band is awesome, I give the album 11 on a scale of 1-10. They rocked Lollapalooza this weekend!
-
-
MossyJul 25, 2005Everyone should listen to this album now! If you like the Killers you'll like this, iits like a rawer faster version of Hot Fuss. The Bravery are my favourite new band (I'm going to see them on the 27 nov) and there is no reason for the crap they recieve. They're much more intresting than the Killers and also are much better. Buy, Buy!
-
-
AvaAug 28, 2005This mediocre CD might have some catchy melodies, but it has dreadful lyrics, lacks substance, and doesn't retain any shred of originality.
-
-
TheyRuleApr 17, 2007Whoever thinks they sound like The Killers is seriously retarded. The Killers are boring posers who think they are original. This is pure fun. Robert Smith should call Brandon Flowers, that cocky twat.

ErikaLApr 19, 2005I guess alot of these negative comments come from people obviously usung crack, they seriously don't know a good group when they see one, why attack a band that is full of talented people, attack someone like Britney Spears that does nothing except lip-syncs her way to the top of a corperation solely based on sex, so what I have to say to the negative reviews, go straight to rehab!

BrianBApr 26, 2005First thing I thought of when I played the CD was the Killers. But then after listening to the CD several times it sounded more like Robert Smith of the Cure leading New Order. They have a unique sound that will capture you. This is a great CD that will grow on you for sure.
-
-
lyndApr 27, 2005This band may remind you of others but when you listen they are so unique and they put on a GREAT show. Theyre songs are awsome. I def. recommend it.
-
-
TalalAMay 11, 2005Most of you people trashing the bravery fear any electronic sounds for some odd reason. You also believe that if some other band comes out with a similar genre before that it makes any album after that less entertaining.... tell that to pearl jam when they came after nirvana...

UrbThey definitely know their way around the early Duran catalog, not forgetting the requisite stops at New Order and the Psychedelic Furs. [Apr 2005, p.101]
-
New Musical Express (NME)It's bold, brash, trashy fun that will tempt Killers fans to fall in lust all over again. [19 Mar 2005, p.57]
-
The Bravery do a jockier version of the New Wave competition, pumping the drums in straight-ahead tunes such as "An Honest Mistake" and "The Ring Song."
