Newton's ups and downs might not always be fun, but they make for gripping listening. [May 2019, p.108]

The Brian Jonestown Massacre is exactly what you expect, and selfishly want, The Brian Jonestown Massacre to sound like.

While there's nothing particularly new or breakaway on this self-titled release, it’s a familiar feeling that will leave fans more than satisfied.

In the end, The Brian Jonestown Massacre isn’t among the band’s top 3, most accomplished efforts, however, it represents very well the gist of their sound. Moreover, it is one of their most consistent and cohesive LPs, offering something for most fans out there.

Brian Jonestown Massacre’s 18th album might not be breaking any ground, or sitars, but 15 years after Newcombe nearly destroyed himself, it’s good to hear him sound so self-assured.

Amazing thing about BJM is that you can’t tell if their latest album is their first, middle, or last…their sound is enduring, unique, and avoids trends and categories. They know how to make incredible music and just keep cranking it out. Rock music needs the BJM Expand

The only thing I hope to see for this band is more of the new music on their set-lists. Expand
