Texturally, there's not much of a surprise but The Dream Walker does have its own distinct momentum.

There are points at which this all feels a little hollow. [6 Dec 2014, p.52]

The Dream Walker comes laced with the feeling that, of all the various multimedia forms that make up the Angels & Airwaves project, it’s sadly the music that is the weakest link.

I've always liked AVA but never "loved" them, per se. They've always kept it safe and many of their songs sounded the same. Then they came outI've always liked AVA but never "loved" them, per se. They've always kept it safe and many of their songs sounded the same. Then they came out with Love, which was better, but nothing to write home about either. I then heard they were releasing this album and didn't expect much, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. They have grown and matured a lot and moved away from their generic sound they grew close to. It was daring for them and it paid off. These are all the best songs of their careers. "Kiss With a Spell" and "The Wolfpack" are wonderful! They've always had a "space rock" sound but it seemed pretentious. The Dream Walker, however, is free of pretension. Full Review »
