Drinking more water, kicking bad habits and focusing on positive relationships are things which can be easier said than done, and even harder to make compelling art about. With The Lamb, Lala Lala have done that.

The Lamb cloaks itself in a sobering, stable minded, eloquently thought out state of realism. West's lyrics read like observational prose, her melodies hashed out and clearly defined. These observations West makes are completely empirical, and her experiences and suffering are felt through every second of The Lamb.
  3. Oct 1, 2018
At times The Lamb can feel inscrutable, like it's keeping you just out of reach, but on the jazzy lull of closer 'See You at Home', Lala Lala finally let you in on the heartbreak. The pain's soft when they break it to you.
  4. Oct 2, 2018
A major leap musically and an unflinching reflection on the courage of rejecting easy comforts.
  5. Oct 1, 2018
West has, by no means, figured it all out or emerged victorious, but the point of The Lamb is that she’s trying and her efforts have resulted in a colorful listen and touching journey.
  6. Oct 1, 2018
In many ways, The Lamb is a step forward for West, but here’s hoping its cleaned-up approach doesn’t end up reining her in too much.

Her laconic, absurdist humour gently inflects each track, even when she is singing about intense paranoia and loss. [Dec 2018, p.90]
