QUEEN OF RAPPPPPPPPP! Her rap flow was VICIOUS! and Lyricism was PERFECT. Kim Expressed so much and you felt what she was feeling. Literally she did no wrong in the album. Beyond under-appreciated. Just one of the many things that makes her the reigning queen of hip-hop and rap. No-one can take that away from her!

You guys are crazy. This album is HOT! Kim is spittin' like a rap legend, her lyrics are meaningful, and the beats are bangin'! She really opened up on this album, and I think it's too bad that any printed medium would say anything different. This album is definitely a classic because she reminds us how rap ought to be done and what hip-hop really is all about. 10, 10, and You guys are crazy. This album is HOT! The critics who reviewed this album and didn't care for it must be idiots. Whether she sampled other artist's flow she still did most of the tracks justice. Which they fail to mention. Lyrically the album is up to par. The only problem is maybe 2 or 3 tracks and the excessive skits. This album is superior to Hardcore and Naked Truth is her most solid work.

It is rare that a rap album can make me care. I am usually bored with the rhymes and unless the production is superb I get frustrated hearing the genre because of its repetetive themes and holier than thou attitude. But Lil' Kim is different. Her lyrics are intelligent (just look at "Shut Up Bitch", "Quiet" and "Spell Check"), sexy ("Kittie Box"), and just wholly more interesting It is rare that a rap album can make me care. Her lyrics are intelligent (just look at "Shut Up Bitch", "Quiet" and "Spell Check"), sexy ("Kittie Box"), and just wholly more interesting than what most rap artists have to offer. And she has flow. Her voice doesn't plod along with the beats, it's one with the beats. Listening to these songs it feels like she almost is the music. Almost every single track demands to be heard, and rightly so, because coupled with the lyrics and voice the production work here is really amazing. I'm not sure how someone could like "La Bella Mafia"(Kim's previous effort) more than "The Naked Truth", but somehow the critics here manage it. If not one of 2005's better albums, it at least serves as Lil' Kim's finest work and yes, it's better than Kanye West's "Late Registration" and 50 Cent's "The Massacre". Expand

I'll admit I'm slightly chauvinistic when it comes to rappers, but Lil Kim came through on this one. It's a really solid album. She switches up her flow repeatedly, which is a little jarring, but you cannot hate on the lyrics and the production.

Lil' Kim is doing her thing. This album is a total classic. You can't get enough of her undeniable lyrics, and production. She really got off about rapping about sex a lot. She's more into money, power, rhymes, and skills on this one. The opening track, "Spell Check" has a good beat thats catchy, and her rhymes are really like a true rapper. Not stealing. She attacks Foxy Brown real good on that one, especially the lines in that song: " She prove you a liar/ Tryn' deny her/ Jackie-O proved you far from a fighter/ Comin' at me **** you playin' with fire/ i could come back at you, but comin' after your ghostwriters"! Thats the queen rapping right there. "Whoa" is an intense, hot nice track. Slippin' has some good lyrical content. The Naked Truth by far is truly a classic by Lil' Kim. Two classics actually, Hard Core. Expand

The best Lil' Kim album. With rap songs like "Shut Up" and "Listen Up", how isn't it? Lil' Kim will always be one of the top female rappers. Great work, Kim.

Some of her most raw music, She adresses so many situations she went through during this period, She Flawlessly executes the persona of a bad from bedstuy brooklyn. This album without a doubt is some of her best work. Effortlessly give the queen bee 10/10! Such a flawless album.

Lil' Kim provou ser uma das melhores rappers. Na minha opínião, ela só perde pra MIssy Elliott, que sem dúvidas é a rainha. "The Naked Truth" é uma prova do quanto Lil' Kim é boa.

The Queen of Rap! In the edge of going to jail, Lil' Kim return with an incredible album, including the hit single and Brooklyn's anthem "Lighters Up". Even if it was a failure on sales, "The Naked Truth" shows ripening on the rapper's rhymes - even though she don't need.

  1. This album is as fake as Kim’s physique, as vapid as the fashion she flaunts, as undeservedly praised as her entire career.
  2. Though hardly in the running for rap album of the year, there's plenty to recommend "The Naked Truth". Yet equally, there's an abundance of wearing phone skits, phoned-in guest performances and shameless fillers to get in the way.

Her very-real-life drama has inspired some of her most focused work... and also some of her worst. [21 Oct 2005, p.75]
