  • Summary: A showcase for their record label Star Trak, 'Clones' is a compilation of 22 Neptunes-produced and/or performed tracks, featuring A-list artists such as Nelly, Busta Rhymes, P. Diddy, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg and Nas.

  1. This gem glistens with bumpin' hits by Nelly, Clipse, Snoop Dogg and others.
  2. Its many high points and its sheer diversity (think of it as the ultimate pre-assembled mix tape) are enough to gloss over any minor transgressions.
  3. With appearances from most of the big-name rappers and wall-to-wall Neptunes beats, this should be the world's greatest hip-hop compilation -- and much of the time it is.

Seekers of weird and variegated musical kicks will certainly want to snap up Clones. [22/29 Aug 2003, p.130]
  5. There are, admittedly, times when it looks like they're just showing off.

Neptunes' grooves and collaborators score an impressive hit rate. [Sep 2003, p.111]
  7. Clones testifies to how familiar (and hollow) the Neptunes’ studio tricks have become.

Does have a few tracks tending to the filler direction though. Still, a good cd. Expand
