  1. The Runaway Found is to be filed alongside Coldplay, Starsailor and Snow Patrol.
  2. Falls between Starsailor, Travis, Elbow, Alfie, etc, always raising the question: who are The Veils?

There's a fine line between sounding passionate and overwrought, but [The Veils] find themselves on the proper side of that smudgy barrier--just. [Aug 2004, p.142]
  4. They’re a perfect opening band: professional and sufficiently appealing on a sonic level without risking upstaging the headliner with any distinct personality or emotional resonance.

All pomp and bluster, like Coldplay at their most bombastic. [Mar 2004, p.108]

In a music world where magazines will print the best ratings for the hottest acts, based solely on the fact that it will sell more copies, it In a music world where magazines will print the best ratings for the hottest acts, based solely on the fact that it will sell more copies, it feels astounding to know that The Veils will be the best kept secret for true music lover everywhere. With all of these references to Starsailor and Coldplay, I think an enigmatic band such as The Veils should be compared more to bands who have truly opend new ground for other acts. Take Afghan Wigs, The Philharmonic Orchestra and throw in a dash of The Velvet Underground...Ladies and Gentlemen...I give you The Veils. Full Review »
