  • Summary: The latest album for the rock band is the first with John Dawson and Marty Sprowles as its new guitarist and drummer.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 2 out of 5
  2. Negative: 0 out of 5
  1. It's less of an issue to find an epochal band among them and more of one to find a band that is consistently a pleasure to listen to in its own right. Well into a decade's worth of performances and recording, Early Day Miners manage that feat again on their sixth album, The Treatment.
  2. While this is a poppier, more finely polished rendering of their sound, this is also a magnificent culmination of everything Early Day Miners have been working toward and perfecting throughout the duration of their career.
  3. Under The Radar

In spite of its shortcomings, The Treatment, much like your slacker buddy, is guaranteed to provide a pleasant evening's entertainment. [Fall 2009, p.62]
  4. The songs have cool, memorable hooks and great guitar textures, but an overarching lack of enthusiasm hurts even their strongest material.
  5. It's rarely boring, and often full of promise, but it's a direction that calls for further tweaks, experiments, and exploration to get the balance just right.
