On his own throughout this compilation, he sounds like a ghost haunting the dream house of his youth. Simply gorgeous. [No. 105, p.61]

There's a Dream I've Been Saving is a prime cultural artifact documenting a high point in an independent era in pop recording, production, and D.I.Y. aesthetics. It deserves a Grammy for content and design.

This lavish multidisc set is as eccentric and compelling as its subject.

As spread over four CDs and a DVD, "There's a Dream" is a lot to consume, especially if you're not into Hazlewood's in-your-face approach.... Best, though, are some of Hazlewood's sides with Ann-Margret, recorded in Nashville.
