    While TIM is unlikely to win any existing EDM-deniers over, its addition to Avicii’s back catalogue will come as great comfort to both the fans and family of the late DJ.

    Of the production teams, Vincent Pontare and Salem Al Fakir (aka Vargas & Lagola) deliver the best product, elevating "Peace of Mind," "Tough Love," and "Excuse Me Mr Sir" above the pack. A generic middle stretch is bookended by Tim's other highlights, which benefit from a group of high-profile guest stars, of which there are two clear standouts.

    On a purely sonic level, TIM is an easy listen to a fault, but taking in this final artistic statement is more difficult when focusing on the lyrics. ... The effect of these [guest] contributors effectively recasting his personal sentiments over once-unfinished music is haunting in all the wrong ways.

    For an artist whose music aimed for maximum accessibility, often to a fault, Avicii may well be remembered as an innovator. Sadly, this record feels like he was just getting started.

    Well, it's a great album. If you like Avicii, you will definitely like "TIM". The songs are good and even a little "memorable" (In the case of some)

    I like Avicii's music, he's probably my favorite EDM producer, however, this album feels like the weakest of his discography.

    Don't worry, this won't be a biased opinion because I love Avicii, I'll actually admit that this album has flaws, for starters, there are 12 songs, very few passing the 3 or 4 minute mark, making it a very short album, despite a decent number of songs. Not only most of the songs are too short, but they are pretty bland and generic in terms of lyrics and music. Only a few songs I can consider "good" and memorable (Hold the Line, Never Leave Me and maybe Heart Upon My Sleeve) but far from the artist's best work, my favorite is "Heaven", such a great song, a 10/10 and an instant electronic classic, but the rest of the songs, while not bad, are really forgettable and mediocre.

    I know this was completed after his death, I know that Avicii left the album unfinished, but the lyrics and most of the music work were pretty much already done by him before he passed away (adding the fact that many songs in this album were just re-worked previously unreleased songs) so I'm guessing that even if he was still alive, the result wouldn't have been much better honestly.

    Frankly, Avicii lost his steam after the release of Stories. Taste the Feeling is just a generic pop song, while not bad, it's not great and just a glorified ad, the EP AVICI (01) suffered from the same problem as this album: Very short songs and while none of them were bad, they weren't great.    … Expand

Yes the primary intention was honorable but doesn't explain how low we got. Tracks don't even follow each other correctly. They all sound like they tried to take a close look to Avicii's life and work but sadly ended up trying to ride on his personal success and originality. It feels like some featured artists get into 'TIM' just to freely mess up with Avicii's work. Structures of tracks are basic as hell: sung verse and electro chorus, with last chorus accompagnied by sung parts. Some tracks are really surprising by their completely unharmonic sides. However I admit that some others manage to add sparks to it all.

    In the end it sounds like a bunch of EDM artists just threw some unfinished work on our faces, hoping that we will accept it on behalf of our respect for Avicii. But fans can identify situations when they don't feel like having the respect they deserve, and it is unfortunately the case here. I don't want such a shallow generic and hollow project.    … Expand
