If you're checking out their fifth album to discover groundbreaking, controversial new music, you are a strange individual indeed.

Unfortunately, the lack of powerful hooks, either in the melodies or riffs, means that all that coloring is on a grayscale, keeping Time of My Life a muted black-and-white exercise in half-hearted soul-searching.

If you already like 3 Doors Down (and plenty do), then Time of My Life will be another album worth listening to; if you're one of the people who liked "Kryptonite", it's probably not worth bothering.

They played slick, heroic neo-grunge for the Clear Channel era, where all regions melted into one long, Nickelback impression. They're still clinging to that anthemic plod a decade later, like an eight year-old who can't bear to throw out a dead hamster.

I liked "When you are Young", "back to me" and "Round and round" but I would say this album is significantly softer than the usual - it's as if 3 Doors is trying to sound more mainstream which they should not Expand

This one takes the title of the most generic set of rock-pop songs I have ever listened to. I was almost laughing out loud as I went through each track, each one more repetitive musically and lyrically than the last. A few of the melodies are pleasant and I do recall enjoying a few of their previous hits, but this album is just plain lazy and worse: boring. Many of the songs sound like they could have been written by a machine. Expand
