Even with the quick-shifting styles, the emotional charge of the songs and Mulherin's distinctive songwriting sensibilities expand nothing, nowhere's range and keep the album from devolving into a scattered mess.

While human suffering or pain isn’t joyous, the special craft of nothing, nowhere. most certainly is, and ‘Trauma Factory’ is a splendid occasion for celebration.

‘Trauma Factory’ is overlong and occasionally indulgent, but if those are the terms under which Joe is operating, then this daring, forward-thinking genre piece is worth the price of admission.

Trauma Factory’s straight-up rap moments are more hit-and-miss, with the likes of exile and upside down feeling coherent enough but lacking in bite, demonstrating how nothing, nowhere. sounds best when the musical backdrop is thicker and leans more into the heavier side of Joe’s sound.

Aided by its dynamic pop-punk flourishes, Trauma Factory glows with earnestness and demonstrates all the good that can come from embracing pain.

His 2017 debut Reaper was built around tender guitar motifs that would mesh with stuttery trap beats. There is some of this on Trauma Factory, but it’s been mostly sidelined in favour of vocal melodies that frequently sound like playground rhymes.

(3rd on a major label). As is normal for Joe, he does not want to be pinned to a main genre or style. No matter how hard he tries to play multiple sides of the genre aisle, his best work is found when he sticks to what he is best at, guitar solos with beautiful vocals and witty lyricism; fast paced rap with heavy backgrounds from 808's. Glad to hear you release another masterpiece Joe! Full Review »

"it's quite cliche, unsetting, but it's good for those who seek that"

The album on his own is too ambitious, and that's something you have to expect of a album that work so many genres, it's undeniable that at some point, the structure is gonna fall apart.
As a album, it quite don't work well, but the tracks separately has so much charm as hits, it have that lightly flow that don't overwhelme the songs, above all the trap, oooooh the trap works so well here,
