  1. Rademaker fronts the group with a delicate swagger, and though The Tyde sounds terrific doing ballads (particularly "Breaking Up The Band"), it sounds even better when it stops holding back.
  2. Twice is a sweet, mercurial foray into lip-quivering American indie-rock infused with the blissful aroma of Creation-style ambience and the woody scent of paisley-clad cosmic country.
  3. Those are the two things that Twice has in spades: soul and passion. Add to that a bunch of great songs, and you've got yourself a real keeper.
  4. Uncut
There's much to admire in the fretwork of [Darren] Rademaker and Ben Knight, too, joining the dots between Johnny Marr, Roger McGuinn and Felt's Maurice Deebank to underpin the hooks with sun-blonde crispness. [Jul 2003, p.116]
  5. The "perfect sounds for the summer" tag might cause a battle with The Thrills, but I do believe The Tyde have a fighting chance.
  6. Magnet
Elements of glam, power pop and soul creep into the Tyde's pool of sound, making for a winning, genre-spanning formula. [#60, p.117]
  7. Twice is a summery, psychedelic treat.
  8. Spin
Both intoxicating and deliciously unmemorable. [Oct 2003, p.113]
  9. It's unabashedly retro, fuzzwop guitars bleeding psychedelica all over the place, crossing three decades of a never-ending summer of love and hate, but it's not revolutionary.
  10. Blender
They invigorate brainy pop by adding slight belligerence. [#18, p.134]
  11. There's not too much here to knock the sprinkles off your ice cream cone, but Twice is an impressively consistent and well- crafted collection.
  12. Mojo
These songs cut too deep to be pastiche.... A lovely record of enormous warmth. [Jun 2003, p.101]
