  1. Unified Theory -- while recalling the sounds of such bands as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Rush -- offers up a bold and psychedelic modern rock set.
  2. Easily one of the best and most promising rock debuts since, well, Blind Melon's 1992 self-titled debut.
  3. Like far too many bands whose members bring strong musical pedigrees to the project, Unified Theory's sum is less than its parts -- despite, or perhaps because of, an abundance of adventurous spirit and experimental zeal.

Sadly, [lead vocalist Chris] Shinn's love of drama often overshadows the band's taut and atypical rhythm section, and the somewhat left-of-center construction of Thorn's guitar parts.
  5. Unified Theory play melodramatic art rock (with a capital AOR) in a Meatloaf-meets-Jane's Addiction kind of way. Their music plods along with all the grace of a Pinto sans muffler, substituting grandiosity for grace and thus failing to achieve the dramatically transcendent sounds that Roy Orbison and Jeff Buckley once made.

One of the most creative sounds I've heard in awhile. You can jam to it or just chill out. I hope they make more music.

unified theory has a very good sound to there band but what gets me is the singer sounds just like shannon hoon the lead singer from unified theory has a very good sound to there band but what gets me is the singer sounds just like shannon hoon the lead singer from blindmelon and it seems to me (dont get me wrong) but if ur gonna start a new band with a new name atleast dont try to get a guy thats vioce matches up to shannon hoons because in some way its a rip off of shannons vioce that just comes natural, and to have some guy who pops into this new band and trys to sing like him ,i dunt think is right because in my eyes and through my ears shannon hoon will never be replaced by any guy who can try sing like him or try to write like him Shannon Hoon is Original In Vioce And in Heart And Is a Genious and im not sayen this other guy sucks but he should find his own vioce~ Expand
