Lush production, 3 part harmonies at an all time high, and experimentation all over the second half of the record.

"Violet Street" is Local Natives' best effort in years and a truly beautiful release.

Local natives, with the help of producer Shawn Everett, manages to capture the best bits of every previous album into Violet street all the while pushing their sound and experimentation forward with a deeply satisfying album that begs to be listened to from front to back.

I've been a fan of Local Natives for some years now, and I am more than grateful for this album. Even though I liked the last one, it was not at the level of Gorilla Manor or Hummingbird, but Violet Street totally is, and it makes me so happy.

Can't get enough of this album. This album is a great stand-alone piece, but if you are a previous fan you will agree they've done an amazing job of evolving their sound and staying true to the things that make them stand out. Gorgeous album and an instant favorite. If you get to see these guys live, I highly recommend it, they are unbelievable in concert. Can't wait to see this tour!

Amazingly emotional, sentimental, and beautiful. I like it much better than their previous album and it makes me want more.

My favorite album of 2019 so far. So much to deconstruct with each listen. Would recommend at least 3 listens to really get a feel for it.

I’ve loved Local Natives for about 4 years and I can easily say this is one of their best works. You can actually feel the energy and love they put into this album, I still get goosebumps listening to “Garden of Elysian” every single time.

Beautiful album by one of the best bands around. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Oh, and go see them live, too!

The album I've looked forward to all year, and it exceeded my expectations. The heavy use of tape machine adds a vintage twist to the already growing sound the band has created. Gulf Shores, Megaton Mile, and When Am I Gonna Lose You are the standout singles, for me.

Love this album! Can’t pick a favorite good. I’ve been a huge fan of local natives for a while and I think they’ve outdone themselves on this album, they’re songs that are meant to be played live.

They’re best work yet ! Really happy to see that they’ve also expanded their tour! Now all we need is a Cleveland, Ohio show.

Unreal band with the best production on their latest album, Violet Street. Matt on the drums is incredible.

Despite the occasional moment of stagnation, Violet Street is a commanding collection of songs that strikes at the heart with it's earnest depictions of love in the City of Angels.

Very much an album of two halves. [Jul 2019, p.113]

But for all of the globe-trotting that went into Violet Street, Local Natives remain quintessentially SoCal: genial, approachable, and optimistic, even if their surroundings are liable to be on fire or crumbling into the sea.
