It’s a terrific, family-friendly smorgasbord of a record that delivers all the classic ABBA flavours.

The bar remains where they left it nearly 40 years ago and they have thrived within their own limits. Voyage might not surpass ABBA’s timeless collection of gold hits, but it’s certainly better than the disappointment people will purport it to be.

Benny’s production work at times does a disservice to the material but, for the most part, Voyage is a welcome addition to the ABBA canon.

Missteps prevent Voyage from being a triumph yet they are true to the rest of ABBA's catalog so, in a sense, they're welcome. If ABBA didn't have cheeseball moments, they wouldn't be ABBA, so it's reassuring that the group brings the lows along with the highs on this unexpected and delightful album.
  5. 60
There are songs here with a cinematographic grasp of gesture allied to countermelodies of aching prettiness, almost casually thrown away. In the very same breath, though, Voyage packs in a surfeit of hokey oompah and two Christmas tunes too many.
  6. 60
When the harmonies blend and Andersson’s piano rings out, it sounds enough like Abba to have hardcore fans tossing their feather boas in the air. But the dancing queens have lost the spring in their step, and the result is out-of-time rather than timeless.

Rather than reflecting poignantly on the past, much of the rest of Voyage feels terminally stuck there.

Great Album and an amazing surprise in 2021! It is an introspective and profound ABBA. The melodies and harmonies make me travel!

What a comeback album after many years quite a short album but worth the wait and hope they do more.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I felt like a child at Christmas anxious to open my gifts. While a few of the songs delivered exactly what I wanted, sadly the rest left me strongly underwhelmed. In saying that, listening again much like picking up a discarded Christmas present on boxing day, I discovered a few more enjoyable tracks.
This album is quintessentially ABBA but without the memories of the 70s and 80s that listening to their previous material summons, then sadly this album doesn't deliver. Perhaps in 20 years I'll be enjoying voyage as much as the earlier albums.

Every track is so underwhelming, to the point of pure boredom.
This kind of material is really a thing of the past and doesn't 'fit in' with the modernistic vibe of today's music charts. Disappointing.
