  1. At its best 'Wishville' recalls the finest hours of Psychedelic Furs and Mancunian goth heroes The Chameleons and at its worst, the pomp stadium rock of Simple Minds.
  2. The band hasn't taken the same sort of strides it has in the past. That's not to say Wishville isn't a strong album, but in the realm of Catherine Wheel recordings, it doesn't deliver on the promise of Adam and Eve.
  3. Wishville is seamless, expansive and full of go-nowhere moments.
  4. You can't tell if Wishville is the sound of a band losing steam or just being too self-conscious.
  5. This album is absolutely terrible, a total abomination.

Streamlined perfection in their song writing and a perfect marriage with the superlative producer and occasional bandmate Tim Friese-Greene. Maybe it's has just gotten better over the years, but even at it's release I found the music, riffs and unmistakable Friese-Greene production as the sign of a band that had grown up and was ready to reinvent themselves for Y2K. Rather sad that poor reviews for this album killing it's sales pretty much broke them. The world deserved more of them. Expand

Love this band, but this is their weakest effort.

Seems overly thought out and produced and too mature, which result in boring songs for me. Ferment and Chrome are unbeatable. Expand
